      Hi All,

Excuse if this has been posted before but has anyone developed a plugin/software that would allow me to send off a sketchup to a client however they can't rip it apart and take the ideas and such. Nowadays, its become quite important as it enhances the clients visualization of the final image. I believe there are similar plugins like 'GoCubic' out there that capture a scene and your able to see through it however that is stil limited. Are there others ??

      Regards,

Not for skp files. Maybe the best you can do is to export to 3D PDF or some other, interactively viewable formats where they can do a walkthrough themselves but cannot get the geometry out. See Simlab exporter for instance or LightUp or LumenRT or similar for the time being.

The only way to protect the SKP file is keep it to yourself. As Csaba says, if you want to give the client the ability to poke around the model exporting to some other viewer is best.

Also have a look at the model scrambler. It's maybe not exactly what you want since clients can still see the whole model, but they could not reasonably re-use it for other professional work.

One partial solution to this problem that I use is to explode everything, groups components, the lot.
In most cases it will be beyond peoples ability or patience to extract elements from the model.
