If you are trying to figure out how to determine if a component is dynamic or not, then like Thom suggested - it is just a regular component with special libraries attached to it. So you would iterate through all the component definitions in the model and find the ones that have the dynamic component attribute library. Then you would select all of their instances, or you would need some other criteria to determine which single instance you want. Do you know how you are planning on singling out the specific instance you want to select?

It looks to me as if you've just moved the axes. The thing to do is right click on the origin and choose Reset. You might find it easiest to hide the model or at least the part of it in the vicinity of the origin before doing that. You don't need to delete anything though. Unhide with Edit>Unhide.

Some plugins also need to be turned on, or the toolbars to be shown. First (on PC), go to the Window Menu and open "Preferences" and look for the "extensions" tab. Scroll through the extensions and make sure they are all turned on. Many plugins do not use this extension manager, so do not be surprised if your plugins are not listed here. Then go to the "View" menu and go to "Toolbars" and make sure that any toolbars for your plugins are turned on. Oh also, you need to restart sketchup after installing plugins. If neither of those help, then definitely post images of your plugins folder. Good luck, Chris

Not bad, I'll have to keep that one in the 'ol toolbox. Would be good for something a little simpler than what I'm doing. Doesn't take transitional areas (road to ditch to field) into consideration and the edges aren't great. [image: bHpa_Capture.PNG]

lauco59...I'm not sure I can help with the "global attributes", that's why we created the update plugins. But if you want to share one of your Dynamic Components, I would be glad look at our plugin and see why it's not updating your DCs?

Indeed SU can only import pure geometry from dwg/dxf. Have a look at this plugin: maybe it can import more things but not necessarily what you want: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=23002 LO cannot currently import these formats - maybe in the future.

I'm having the same issue actually. Except the issue is evident in SOME of the people, but not all, within a crowd scene. I'll have to look closer at the people who aren't flickering to see if they might pose a clue.

I'm going to go with a "yes". I know people have tied it to sql before. I'm currently involved in a project where I make a lot of xml "database" files of my model. Its definitely possible, especially if you already are a database person. I'm more of a photographer, so the database interaction is frustrating for me. But for you, it should be a breeze!

@gaieus said: Press the Z key - your cursor will change to a magnifier glass (this is the Zoom tool). Hold Shift and click on the screen and pull the cursor up and down. This will change the Field of View (FOV). In the meanwhile, if you look at the measurement toolbar at the bottom right, you will notice that the FOV setting is changing. Now you can even type a desired number (do not click in there just type) like 35 and press Enter. This will get you back to some "normal looking" FOV setting. The higher this number is, the more "fish eye" effect ou have (can be good for interiors) Yes that fixed it! Thanks a lot!!!!

I by accident came across this discussion I have created doors and windows that cut holes in both sides of the wall, so long as the wall is at a set thickness they are uploaded on the 3D warehouse and in this case the required wall needs to be 120mm thick and then you drop the door into the wall and explode easy! Try this double glass sliding door for example http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=1a0cdc0066070dfe80d6227ff9b21190&prevstart=0 as long as placement of the component is correct, it works no problemo!
