load "some_text_file_in_the_load_path" always returns true unless there is an error. require "some_text_file_in_the_load_path" only returns true if that file has never been loaded before during that session. Sketchup's own require and load are designed to work with text files [typically RB files] OR its specialized compiled RBS files, Oddly Sketchup::load is actually an alias of Sketchup::require - so both of them will return false if the file has been loaded before. So when testing use ' load' instead ! Compile the RB to RBS if desired and use Sketchup's method to load it - only when you've debugged the code...

I think you'd be smart to start with something considerably more simple than this anchor and learn the basic tools such as Follow Me. You need to have these fundamentals down so you can actually understand what it is that you're doing when you work on this model. The profile is the shape you'll extrude along a path with the Follow Me tool. [image: RL37_Screenshot-6_1_20155_55_55PM.png]

I heard that Lightup Plugin might help on that. If it's true or not, I wouldn't know...

@jonathonlt said: NOT tottally sure wot yuou are ALL on about tho there is some hint of programming a mouse to SU that would be nice to no ,,+ my little issue that --if PAN is selected WHEEL BUTTON can ORBIT (IF you have wheel button) so ,if ORBIT is sellected . wheel button could PAN ,and mine does,nt ,,+ has anyone usefull knowledge with PROGRAMMABLE MICE and SU ..JON.. Download 'X-Mouse Button Control' from: https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/XMouseButtonControl.htm There is a portable version too. Make a profile for SketchUp for upper half of the window, for "Middle Button" use 'simulated keystroke' and add {SHIFT}{MMB}. This way your mouse middle button will activate PAN in upper half and ORBIT in lower half of SU window. You can assign different key strokes for every quarter of a window if you wish, and even additional strokes for toolbar areas. My mouse is with side scroll and if I assign different keystrokes for TiltWheelLeft, TiltWheelRight, WheelUp, WheelDown for every quarter + toolbar area I will have 20 different tools activated by middle mouse button (+ pan & orbit & zoom reserved for 'Middle Button' action). Without side scroll I will have 10 tools/keystrokes + pan & orbit & zoom. Pretty good for a simple mouse. Actually I use only few and my side buttons(button4 & button5) are reserved for Undo/Redo in every program I use, but they can be customized same way too. 'X-Mouse Button Control' is useful tool. A lot more can be made with button actions as there are additional options.

Could be a laptop thing. I don't think that I'm having any issue though. Just wanted to make sure.

Yeah I keep a bookmark for the 3D Warehouse on my bookmarks bar - it's much faster than the Component browser - download to the downloads folder then you can clean up the names and sort them into your local components folders. The 3D Warehouse is still weak, weak, but this trick helps a lot.

@slbaumgartner said: @tig said: Actually it's exactly 5 feet [60 inches] expressed in millimeters ! Doh! Looked at my own model info instead of the original posted image and typed too fast. Actually, 5 feet is much more arbitrary - not likely to be the default in a template. Unless of course the user had units set to feet without unit dispaly and entered 5 thinking it was 5mm ! Then layer on changed units to mm, without realizing the length-snap was now ~1.5m !!!

@fluid said: We just released FluidImporter 3.1.0. You can get it here. Here's what's new: Faster import FluidImporter is now a full .rbz extension, with a single file for Windows/OSX You can access FluidImporter funtionality through the menu Extensions -> FluidImporter Added edge smooth option Options are now saved so you don't lose your settings when closing SkechUp Looks interesting except for the "machine lock." When I purchase software, I want it locked to ME, not my machine. Even high dollar software like Keyshot allows me to put it on a computer at the office and my laptop and home. ugh.

Wow, thanks for all of the great input! I do these models mainly for conceptual visualizations in the preliminary or promo phases of projects. I recognize that a Civil 3D/3DS Max workflow would be better for something like this. But I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around that stuff at the moment. I wish I could understand French. That guy is doing exactly what I need to be doing. Thanks so much everyone!
