In a way you can. Group the data you wish to copy. Ctrl x or c. Open the file into which you wish the group to be inserted. Ctrl V. Because it is grouped, it can be dropped, picked up again by another snap point and placed. This is a lot of circumlocution, for a simple process. I am assuming you are talking about the related technique used in Autocad, for instance. I use this quite often, as well as the Sketchup procedure I just described. Of course, there may be other variations.

Thank you for the replies, and sorry for the slow response. Co-ords to datum plugin works well.

It's better if you post an image and more an skp file (save as V6)! Else I don't see why you have this problem! [image: GIF_circle.gif] Guides are drawn following a previous one as inference line! [image: GIF_circle1.gif] Circle is drawn with taking the orientation of the face by Shift! [image: GIF_circle3.gif] First guide is drawn by a move and come back! (move & back can be external or internal as following) [image: GIF_circle4.gif]

I am using this in work and it's working really well without error for many months now. Data prep is more of an issue for more complex models I am bringing in from places like Delatgen and Catia, SketchUp however is the easiest of the bunch. You do need SketchUp Pro to make it work however and I havent' yet tried it on SU2019.

I assume you are using the SketchUcation toolset ? In v2017 SketchUp introduced its own Extension Manager [Window menu v/ Preferences] The current SketchUcation toolset includes the ExtesionWarehouse³ AND Managers for Extensions and Plugins. In effect all RB [Ruby] files installed in your Plugins folder are 'plugin' files, and these are auto-loaded as SketchUp starts. Simple RB files load and offer some functionality. Other RB files have a supporting subfolder of scripts to add functionality. These 'Plugins' appear in the SCF 'Plugins Manager' and can be disabled/enabled. Other 'Extension' RB files also have a similar subfolder - they are defined by their authors to be a particular subset of Plugin - 'Extension' - that is mandatory in anything available from the EWH. These files load like other Plugins, but if the are disabled using the native 'Extension Manager' OR the SCF 'Extensions Manager' then they are not displayed in menus or toolbars etc. If you disable an RB file using the SCF Plugins Manager, which might have loaded an Extension, that possibility is sidestepped. So you can enable/disable both simple Plugins AND complex Extensions, if you disable the 'loader' RB that would have loaded an Extension it never gets listed... Note that NOT all scripts load main menu items - some are run from the context-menu, or are 'helpers' or run from Ruby Console - and then their menu items are not restricted to the Plugins [now renamed Extensions] menu

@pcmoor said: here is a panel DC within a working file that can be scaled or fixed and set to different pitches and returns the dimensions in the option dialog Use the fixed position (drop down option) to start with, then use the scale position to match the next panel (direction via another dropdown) (its not fully tested, so if there's something not quite right...its fixable) I can help you if you private message your DC with regards the work flow, the report writer can transfer the required data to excel. Excel can hold the formatted label, exactly as you have shown with named cells in the data positions. An VBA routine can be made to transfer the data sheet from Sketchup to the labels required, in that Copies be made in excel and filled out to suit each component that exists on the report I am well acquainted with excel and VBA P.S. most likely would build this DC differently, however it does give you an idea to how to achieve your goal Thanks so much mate, and I will likely seek your employ to help out with this! I did workout how to easily apply the data to the sticker through a simple word doc using mail merge. Though totally open for a more streamlined option. I'd certainly like to see how the DC can be better constructed and function. We didn't plan on having it scaleable as we were planning to stick with blocks made of standard dimension panels so we can see exactly what is constituting the makeup and switch out say a 2.7m panel for a 3.0m panel when they exceed the height. I've now got to jump in and upgrade my SU license, as I haven't since I left the test team after 10years and by doing so I got the demand to buy a whole new license, rather than just move to the maintenance program! It just went against my grain!

Thanks TIG, a pity just about everything has to be via a plugin but that's life. I will have to check that plugin.

@deklund said: Confusing that it was necessary to point to the components folder If you are using the default location for the components and add your components subfolders to it, those folders should show up automatically when you next start SketchUp.

@tig said: Normally the shipped Components subfolder [and Materials and Styles too] in the Program Files path is reserved for SketchUp's shipped files only. Permissions are limited and the intention is that you set up your own subfolders for these file types in your own USER path. Typically these might be like this... C:\Users\USER\Documents\SketchUp\Components ... Materials ... Styles etc Useful for sharing across multiple versions. Alternatively consider using the USER's defaults... C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2017\SketchUp\Components etc This is where the USER's Plugins folder lives etc, version by version... Also the USER's Templates and Classifications are in there too... The AppData folder's path is hidden by default, but changing Windows Explorer > Folder Options lets you see it... Thank you . Now I am able to access them quickly.

In addition to the other fixes... This oldie script [by me] lets you batch reset a selection of arcs/circles' segmentation: again, that's provided that they are '2d'... https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=ArcCurve_set_segments

Is this a question about Dynamic Components? or a general question about how to make a sphere and why it is failing? If it is a general question then it is down to you attempting to make the sphere too small. Read the thread called The Dave Method in the Tutorials section.

@SWills Thanks for the log. RoundPushPull is not really designed for this type of surface. It is more for boxy shapes. You should use JointPushPull instead, if it is just to thicken the surface. Fredo

Thanks for your kind words, Rich O Brien. So yes, I know the first person camera on the WebGL scene is a bit sensitive in movement, as soon as I get a chance I will correct that. I am glad you like the doors opening on click and the working elevator. You know, I was able to do all of that without actual programming code, it was all done via CopperCube's built in interactivity selection menu.
