BlenderGIS can get you pretty good images.. you do need an API key to get set up but it's all free and you can even generate 3d geometry based on the elevations in the satellite images.. it tiles in blender so you the more you zoom the better the image quality to a point.

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

Are you trying to export back edges? Back edges are a raster thing so there's no vector lines to export. You could switch to Wireframe, though.

Mac1 Interesting read. I too do not buy canned computers, but put the components together myself. That way I get the performance and upgrade path to my liking, not some generalized box. HP, while they make very good computers allow very little non-HP upgrades. Dell is similar. You said your ISP charges extra for WIFI. Cut that cord!!! Get a simple cheaper non-WIFI modem from them. Then buy a WIFI Router and install it between the PC and Modem. That also gives you 4 LAN connections, or 3 free for other devices. Try to get a good high power router, especially if you have a large house or multi story house. Set it up on WPA and register every WIFI device (friends and relatives too) that will connect to it. You just need to define the devices MAC address to the router, and the password to the device. That way they automatically log in when booted or come in range. Nobody else can get in, even if they know the password. ISP WIFI Modems usually just need a password, their password, and the modem ID. I have a Cisco router. You can access the Administrator page from any registered device, or the PC with just its static IP Addr, Admin name and password. It also has a Guest access for ad-hoc access with a separate Password.

Thank you Derek, but I am running a Windows 7 Asus tablet. The hard drive is ~32GB. Windows is taking up the majority of that, hence why I am looking to convert to Linux. But I do not want to loose the capability to view/show SU models on the tablet.

I couldn't get it to work properly, I can't control position of the books on the shelf and their orientation (this is probably because I have a model that doesn't follow standard axes orientation)

Added Info: I just renamed both folder and rb to get them out of the picture and re-installed TT_Lib 2.9.1 from Store again - same result. And - yes - I exit SU8 and then restart.

That script is pretty dated - newer versions of SketchUp allow you to get the volume of a selected solid group/component directly in Entity Info. This manual example is really what you are seeking to be automated ? [image: vGiz_Capture.PNG]

@tig said: But didn't he suggest that the latest driver might be the culprit. if I understood Ulis @atelierpaar said: I updated several times - but it doesn`t make any difference. correct, the error message was already shown before the driver was updated. If not he may of course try rolling back to a working version. Norbert

I don't know of a checklist per se but it shouldn't be too difficult. where are your materials and components located for SU8? Are they under SketchUp's Materials and Components folders? If so, you can either link to those local collections where they reside or copy them to SU2013's folders or even put them somewhere else. Then just use Open or Create a Local Collection from the Details menus followed by Add to Favorites from the same menus. The only content you should avoid copying directly would be plugins. Download fresh copies of the plugins you use. Regarding your component issue, as I wrote before, the materials used on the component are part of the component's SKP file and do not depend upon the original texture file's library location. If it did, it would be similar to Microsoft Word which depends upon the viewer having the same font as the author or the document for proper viewing. SketchUp files are more like PDFs in that fonts are embedded in PDF files.

With the sort of structure you want to build you are better off spending a few minutes making suitable components. Here I have made a 3 component joint with rotation points on a separate layer. Using this joint you can very quickly throw together a very complex structure. You start with one joint component and then make unique as needed to get the various arrays you want. You can change angle and rotation and redraw the faces of the components to create whatever shape pipe you want. This is simply a way of having components correctly aligned to each other. As with anything of this type, if you consider how it would be constructed in real life you usually find that using a selection of parts is the best way to go. Also by using this type of joint, you give yourself a framework from which to use curviloft or Extrusion tools etc to make nice connector fittings. Of course the other very simple way of doing it would be to construct it from a bunch of lines then use Pipe along path, or profile builder or some such to finish the construction for you.
