NVIDIA trouble with Open GL Driver
-
Hello there,
lately I am running into serious SU problems .
When ever I try to start a new Drawing, I get an NVIDIA Error code 6 concerning my Open GL Driver, suggesting to update the Driver.
I updated several times - but it doesnt make any difference. Any suggestions what
s wrong here?
Thanks
Uli

Have you tried rolling back the drivers until you get to an earlier one that worked ?
-
uninstall the nVidia GeForce driver until it vanishes from the Windows software uninstallation control panel, restart Windows after every uninstall for doing this.
If no driver is shown any more, install the latest version for your video card preferrably w/ admin rights (right cklick > run as admin).

That is not what I said.
If you open Control Panel > Device Manager > Display Adapters > select NVIDIA... > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Drive... button...
That lets you steps back through the previous version of the driver, which are not uninstalled when you update to a newer version...I don't know what 'uninstalling' it might have done to your set up.

because Ulis initial driver configuration does allready show the mentioned error doing a fresh install is the right way and not rolling back to old driver versions affected.

But didn't he suggest that the latest driver might be the culprit.
Which then suggests that rolling back to an earlier driver might help - not uninstalling every driver and reinstalling the latest - as then he is no better off by doing this ? AND then has no fall back to and earlier versions of it ? -
ThankΒ΄s for your help Norbert and TIG.
I uninstalled the NVIDIA-Driver.
Sorry TIG- I didn'tt get, that it was possible to roll back - now I know for the next time. Anyway
s, every Thing works again.
Thanks one more time - you have been of great help

correct, the error message was already shown before the driver was updated. If not he may of course try rolling back to a working version.
