Here's a real example I made in sketchup: [attachment=0:1d3fe13i]<!-- ia0 -->example.jpg<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:1d3fe13i] the example scaffolding is made totally with components, no edges, no surfaces; so it is possible to use the bounding boxes; the axis line is needed to position precisely the components one onto another The example you show is made of lines, hatches, ... traditional 2D drawing elements; i wouldn't know how to deal with that; maybe the rules you mention might be translated into code lines.

    Does not seem to work for me. In SU 2016 I did put the plugin under USER application Data, since I understand this is where the plugins are located now. The dialog box opens i enter all the specs but no component is drawn.

    @Grice There is something weird in the style of the model that makes Sketchup freeze when views are changed by program. This is true for the native animation, whether Play or Export Video. This even happens when you change scenes manually. I notice the same behavior when building a fly-through animation based on your scenes with Animator. Sketchup seems to block and freeze at certain transitions, which makes the generation quite long (I cannot attach it here as it is too big, but I can post it on YouTube if you are OK). Anyway, the model is useful to me for Animator, as it shows that Animation should be edited with simple styles, using complex styles only for generation of videos. EDIT: I investigated deeper this problem of freeze: for some frames, and inexplicably, write_image can take more than 2 minutes this seems to be related to the watermark This has nothing to do with the face-me components Fredo

    Thanks for your reply. I finally use classification ( an ifc one ) for components and put all my parameters on it ( ref, name, details ... ). That allow me to avoid the "instance" use and exploit my component definition on layout drawings notes ( on that case it is for electrical draw with a lot of repeated references/details ). regards
