FREDO ANIMATOR
-
Hi I have been using this great extension for work this week. I have successfully created an animation and exported all the frames + MP4, with a 16:9 aspect ratio. No problems.
I have then tried to create a second animation which intended to use at a different aspect ratio (9:16), by adding different cameras and motions to suit the 'portrait' aspect ratio. But now when I try to 'generate video' - nothing happens. No exporter dialogue pops up.
If I go back to the original video set up - yes it still works.
Can anyone help?

Open the Ruby Console and see if there's error messages when you click Generate Video
Also check if there are log files saved at the location you've set to export to.

@Rich-O-Brien I'm not knowledgeable about Ruby Scripts but there are no messages in the console. There is no destination folder for the export yet as Animator creates and names a new folder as part of the export process upon hitting the 'generate video' button (that's unchangeable as far as I know). So Animator hasn't created the folder either - if that makes sense.

Make perfect sense.
When you click the Generate Video button it should open the dialog to pick your video settings where you set your aspect ratio.
So this new file with new animation data is not opening the generate video dialog? Or are you extending the existing file with additional animation data?
Sharing the file or an example file that is able to reproduce this would help. I can't reproduce it
Maybe @fredo6 has more to add?

@Rich-O-Brien ah yes I may have inadvertently caused confusion here. I get the first dialogue window where I set the aspect ratio, I set all that stuff and then hit 'generate video' - and that is the point at which nothing happens. It's the export progress window which fails to appear.
Also it is not a new .skp file. It is the same file which already works with the first animation sequence. I have then created the new animation sequence in the same .skp file but the export just doesn't happen. I can switch back to the first animation sequence settings afterwards and it works.
It's as if there is a bug in the software when more than one animation sequence exists within one .skp file. I've tried closing the file and re-starting SketchUp to no avail.

The best is to send me the model with some explanations.

Fredo has solved this for me - I had a " : " in the sequence name, removed and it worked. Thanks!
