Yah, mee too, that's the good way with the video tuts in general. The ones above however are very easy to follow - even for a non native English speaker (ince listening to a tut sometimes is harder than jus reading a few lines).

Thanks Hazza. It makes sense. I thought you were refering to condensation together with moved dust particles by the "air-"flow.

@jean lemire said: Hi Rudbeckia, hi folks. If the cursor is over empty space, the zoom will be very slow. Move the cursor over some geometry to get a better response. Just ideas. thanks that seems to work, i drew a base plane under the entire drawing and its not doing it as much

Yeah. There are two ways actually (right clicking and saving as - with the rb extension - is the easier). The cut and paste method is used when you actually open the script (which is a simple tet file actually) in your browser. THEN select all (Ctrl+A) and cut (or rather copy: Ctrl+C) and pate it into a simple text editor like Notepad (never World or such). Now you can save it (with the rb extension ) in your Plugin foler. It is actually a good routine to have look into the script as well since many authors provide a simple explanation inside - sometimes very important info like if other scripts are needed to run a particular plugin.

Generally, if your block has parallel sides you can just use to push a hole through the geometry. However, if the sides arent parallel youd have to extrude the shape you want to cut through the slab then move it in to position, select the whole thing->right click->intersect with selected. As you said, all this needs to happen with ungrouped geometry (or geometry all in the same group) for it to work. Itd be useful if you could post a model showing your problem btw, hard to say exactly what the problem is without an example.

Its a subscription site. You pay a monthly fee to be able to download the components/rubies/materials/styles and use them. Chris EDIT: Oh yes, they also seem to have an exchange site where you can upload a model and download other peoples models for free.

It works! Of course.. But not with my current project... Did a new simple scene and "save as 6" and it worked fine. Could open the file in SU version 6. Sometime my file got corrupted. Funny its only in the backwardsconversion Im having difficulties with the model. Works with Kerky for ex. I work on the model and if I come up with a new idea I save it with a different name "save as". is that a bad workflow? Should one copy and paste in new SU window? Shouldent make any difference in my logic. Anyway. It is (probably) not a bug then.

Thanks everyone for your replies and advice. Seems I've got a hell of a lot to learn just in basic computing!!! Anyway, I'll be here at the forum more often, as It's a great way to learn more about SU, and seems a nice community to encourage me to maybe place anything that I do that may be 'worthy' into the warehouse! Its symmetrical. The 2nd half of the path is a mirror opposite of 1st half. So all the twists and turns it takes to get to the 1/2 way point all get redone in mirror opposite on the way back. Thats why this model appears to have no twisting from one end to the other. But try it on a model that is not symetrical and there will be wtwisting when the end comes back to the beginning. I've attached a model that shows what I mean. Its hard to how it on screen shots, but I've mnade a few scenes in the model to show it pretty quick I think, Chris twisting.skp

No, Gaieus, I haven't downloaded it yet, although I plan to. Time and other worries are not the reason, but an overloaded hard drive is. I have an external drive, but my HD is so full that it won't recognize it! My computer guru has me putting all my photos onto DVD's, so that I can clear up enough space. Otherwise my external HD won't do me much good. Thanks for the compliment! And the good wishes. Gigi

Hi Green Ace, When did you register your previous (disappeared) account? Anyway, back to your problem: could you show us some exmples? Edit: just as a "teaser", have a look at this topic in the gallery. It also started from some 2D views of the model (although certainly went quite far from simply building the basic mesh).

At least now I know that it's not a .kmz export problem, some other mystery is afoot. Thanks for clarifying that Gaieus. I'be be interested to hear if anyone else has struck the same issue with Pepakura2, or if there are the same problems problems with the Pepakura3 Thanks Jan
