No, cant say I've seen those, definitely fabric, without inflation.
For something like that, which is a static display, the design looks good, but will need more of an air tight arrangement.

RE: Inflatable ground dweller.
I'm pleased to report that the lil ol car, as I said was picked up, and has been seen in some far off locations.
The first one was sold in Kuwait and has seen since on a beach in France. I've got my money back that it cost to get it rolling+ a bit.
Interesting business dealing with the powers that be on this sort of work. -
Lemon Jelly - Space Walk
Well I was inspired, what can I say?
Getting to template stage now, and it's all looking pretty good, tidying up loose ends to make him easier under the sewing machine. He is currently being printed out smallish scale and sellotaped together (thats kiwi for sticky tape. I would upload a pic of the lower bod around 1/2m tall (and theres no way that I'm desiphering that into feet n inches)but it won't let me show you current paper progress.
Not going too bad anyway, still quite a few things to figure out yet, like the intake and bridling.
cheers

RE: Double Standards by Apple?
@honoluludesktop said:
Standards vs. no standards = some standards. Problem becomes who decides and how they decide. Well, maybe not a "problem", but a "process" that takes too long to adjust, and too slow to reflect changing social norms.
Last I heard, we're all waiting for a global standard.
Do you want 3d glasses with that sir? -
RE: Tutorial for sketchup 7.0 and Pepakura Version 3 problems
Pepakura is still the best (that I've found so far) when it comes to unfolding.
You don't need to purchase the hi res version if you are able to export the unfolded file to some other software that will work with the formats pepakura gives you.
I work with a lot of organic shapes and there is an lot of 'tidying up' that must be done to get a 3d to flatten out to a workable 2d design and it pays dividends to take the time on your sketchup drawing to get things as right as you can.You need to be aware, that updates of Google Sketchup won't necessarily work with Pepakura, I've found this out to my frustration. There aren't many old files of sketchup around, mostly they are a direct link, so you need to back up that old file just in case things go pear shaped.
Posed on here as well about the same problems you are having..

RE: FBI wants records kept of Web sites visited
Well ones things for sure, will create a whole bunch of jobs - great for the economy. Mind you, that will be govt jobs - not so good.

RE: FBI wants records kept of Web sites visited
Aus has yet to do the cencorship on websites, the govt wants it, black list on various sites.
I seems quite insane that govts even think about such things, I believe the last greatest total ban on anything (least in the u.s) was prohibition.
And that worked well didn't it.I have no idea what is going to solve this recent dilemma of humanity. Perhaps everyone on this earth needs to watch Independance day several times over to get a cohesive view.

RE: How did you get started with SU?
I make kites, well, not kites, air inflatable objects.
I made my first one - a dino dinosaur, by the means of graph paper and PII, took a long time,
dino can be seen here http://www.qldkiteflyerssociety.com.au/fests/coolum_05/index.htm still sitting about, but after a few years, he's closer to the ground - (the fabric is becoming more porous).Gotta be an easier way, and it has been a bit of a haul to get sketchup to think in fabric terms.
A bit of fruition here. http://www.qldkiteflyerssociety.com.au/fests/coolum_08/coolum08.htm
Felix the cat - mostly sketchup, cartoon shapes are good to practice on, panorama's got dino, felix and a carrot poking out of the sand of all things - also sketchup, the black blob is a spider, recognisable, but being redesigned to be really a really scary beasty.
Getting better at it and it's all just fun. -
