Backwards compability

Hi!
Im using free version 7 of Sketchup. Having a dialog with a plugindevelopper
and we are having some difficulties with version 7 models. So I did a test.Hes plugin works well with models created in version 6. So I tried saving them
as version 6 in SU 7. But it did not work. Should it work?I clairify, is the "save as sketchup 6" option ment for files created in 7 to be
backwards compatible with for ex version 6?Best regards.

Hi Jolran, hi folks.
Yes, that's what it is supposed to be. It is the same as saving a V6 file as a V5 file to allow it to be opened by SU5.
Just ideas.

Yes, it shouldwork that way.
If you find anything that does not work, pleasereport it here(possibly including the file as an attachment - if this is not possible "in public", the SU dev. team will show up and you can PM/email it to them).
Thanks.

Hello!
Thank you all for answering!
That is very good to know.
When I now know that its the right way to convert, I can try harder. Thanks!

It works! Of course.. But not with my current project...
Did a new simple scene and "save as 6" and it worked fine. Could open the
file in SU version 6.Sometime my file got corrupted. Funny its only in the backwardsconversion Im
having difficulties with the model. Works with Kerky for ex.I work on the model and if I come up with a new idea I save it with a different
name "save as". is that a bad workflow? Should one copy and paste in new SU window? Shouldent make any difference in my logic.Anyway. It is (probably) not a bug then.
