      Hi
Newbie to the forum. I am wanting to draw up plans for my house. What version of Sketchup do you suggest and how do I load up the plug ins as have not had much success so far.

      Kind regards
      Malc

        Hi Malc and welcome!

I'd definitely start with the latest version: 7 (why go for older ones)?

To install your scrips, simply follow the Smustard FAQ about it.

          Hi Gaieus
Thanks for answer and welcome. I have downloaded Sketchup Pro 7 trial but still am having problems getting the plug ins to work. I am running XP Pro. I have read several of the forums but am still confused. I have never used plugins before! When I do find the plugin on the file list and try to right click on it to cut it and paste it will not allow me to cut it. Any more advice would be greatly appreciated.

          Kind regards
          Malc

Instead of cut and pasting, if you right click->save as... you should be able to save the file. You can then move it in to your plugins folder (if you didnt save it their straight away.)

Yeah. There are two ways actually (right clicking and saving as - with the rb extension ❗ - is the easier).

The cut and paste method is used when you actually open the script (which is a simple tet file actually) in your browser. THEN select all (Ctrl+A) and cut (or rather copy: Ctrl+C) and pate it into a simple text editor like Notepad (never World or such).

Now you can save it (with the rb extension ❗ ) in your Plugin foler.

It is actually a good routine to have look into the script as well since many authors provide a simple explanation inside - sometimes very important info like if other scripts are needed to run a particular plugin.
