I couldn't really figure out how the site works. Do i have to pay for those models or can i download them in exchange for one of my models?

Hi,

i work as a landscape architect and i am always looking for components/models (people, plants, furniture, and other things) to place into my models.

even there is a huge library of models in the 3D warehouse available, i often need specific models for my designs, like certain type of plants, a mum pushing a stroller, someone helping an elderly person getting up stairs and so on...

unfortunately i don't have time to create those models on my own and i was wondering if there is some sort of a wish list for models?

Hi everyone,

I often create materials on my own. (Uploading jpg's in my material library). Now I got the problem that the pattern I use apparently is too big, so that my computer has problems to handle the model.

I was wondering, if someone knows what size (pixel) for the jpg is sufficient in order to create a new material?

because my last request had so much success I’ll try again to get an answer to my Sketch Up questions through the forum.

I'm looking for plugins or rubies for lighting and night scenes? How can I create lamps and lighting? I need it mostly for outdoor lighting, so nothing super complicated with textures, transparency and so... just for some lighting in gardens and to light up trees and facades.

So far I only found software I had to buy. Are there any free rubies or plugins available you can recommend?

I just found this forum, trying to figure out how I can set up/change the location of my SU model. I have no idea where to place my question so I'll start here...

Ok, I'm working with the free SU version and I would like to change the location of my model in order to get some real shadow studies (I'm a landscape architect and I just discovered SU a couple of month ago). I think with the pro version you can just change the location but what can I do with the free version? Is there a plugin or a ruby available? where can I find something about placing a model to the original coordinations so that the south facade actually faces south. so far i'm only rotating the whole model...
