Newbie Plugin Questions
-
Hello,
This is my first post here and I want to thank everyone in advance! I have been a sketchup user for a while now and have been wanting to take advantage of the things the Sketchup community has to offer outside of the 3d warehouse. Mainly the vast array of plugins and ruby script thingies I read so much about on this forum and others. So my two questions are, where can I find these additional tools, and whats a good starter list of useful plugins to get me aquainted? Thanks again
Brett

Me too Me too Honestly there is so much to absorb. Maybe some suggestions at what we should load as beginners.

It might help to add that I am an architect and that I render my models in Kerkythea... So if there are any architects out there who use additional tools that seem invalubale, please let me know!

I can think of 2 main sites for plugins:
http://www.smustard.com/ (not available at the time of posting, not sure why.)
http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/RUBY_Library_Depot.htmTheres also the ruby section of this forum which has a pretty good selection of plugins.
As for what to download, a good start would be:
joint push/pull
tools on surface
Bezier spline (theres a few different version, all are pretty good.)You should be able to find all of these in the ruby forum.
Apart from that, just experiment with some that sounds interesting. Theres loads of scripts out there and most of them do really useful stuff.
