@sepo said: Mike music, could you please post this at Podium forum. There are several problems with your render. If you could also make sure you post your file as well. Sorry about that. Will do.

LOL... of course 2 minutes after posting this topic I found a solution. This neat little Windows app lets you resize or move any window by holding down Alt and right-click or left-click respectively. I got my edge back! http://corz.org/windows/software/accessories/KDE-resizing-moving-for-XP-or-Vista.php

Why not make a SU collaborative model that tells a story based on this kind of snobbery? It would be a cool 3D "exquisite corpse" told in several scenes.

the only aspects of inferencing you can change/turn off are length and angle snapping. Length snapping snaps geometry to incremental units when you create it. Angle snapping snaps geometry to angular increments when you rotate it. Generally i find it easiest to turn length/angle snapping of and just type stuff in to the VCB when i need precision.

I just had a "D'oh!" moment again. (I get those a lot) I was goofing up at the Skin step. I guess it would draw a "PREVIEW" Skin but in order for it to take, I had to hit enter again and it would "Generate" it. and from there I could draw the bulgies. Thanks. That helped a lot. Now back to making Flags and Pennants! [image: z3tC_SSB1.jpg]

Also, to elaborate the "theoretical" issue; the "right click > divide (by segments)" command indeed works only for single lines. As a circle is welded from several segments, you cannot use this command.

SU 7 .kmz should be the same as SU 6 .kmz, as it is the google earth format, which hasnt changed recently, as far as im aware. Another thought: might be worth trying exporting as .3ds or some other format, unless you need .kmz to preserve some aspect of the file.

oh, yes. I forgot about the Homer Button. that one really gives a glimpse of what could be done... do you think I should start a ruby request or would I be banned for life time from the 'ruby discussions' section?

I think you would be a lot more successful if you added depth to the floors on both of the levels and made them components. On the second floor, you would be able to punch through for the stairwell by going into the floor component(double clicking to edit it), drawing in the shape of the opening, then push/pull through and voila, the opening is there and the rest of the floor remains intact. Add walls by drawing the lines onto the surface of the "closed" component floor and you can tweak them since they don't glue themselves to the floor like they do if the floor is not a component. By adding depth to the second story floor, you have an accurate total rise for the stairs if the depth corresponds to the thickness of the construction from the first floor ceiling to the actual floor on the second story. Even though you don't "need" a super accurate drawing for what ever your purpose is, the more accurate you make it, and the better procedures used will make the over all job much easier.

Hi folks. If you triple click to select all gometries, the edges of the top and the bottom will also be smoothed which migth not be the final effect that is wanted. A quick way of selecting only the vertical edges to be softened is as follow: 1 - Use a view that shows the object mostly from its side (a front, back, left or right view is even better. 2 - Do a right to left window select and avoid selecting any of the top and bottom edges. Another one: 1 - Triple click to select all edges and faces (the softening engine will ignore the faces then, do not worry). 2 - Double click on the top while pressing the SHIFT key to Add/Subtract from the selection. The top will be deselected with its edges. 3 - Repeat step 2 for the bottom. Just ideas.

@shotster said: Thanks for the info. They are interesting products, but they don't appear to do exactly what I need. Not only that, but I'm on a Mac, and they're Windows-only. Thanks though. -Steve Hi Steve, You should look into iShowU. There is an option to record without recording the cursor. It's a little bit of a hack, but it works. I am using the $60 pro version, but I believe the $30 standard version has the same ability to not record the cursor. Here is an example: [flash=640,505:3qwjvdou]http://www.youtube.com/v/FoUdz3c5uU8&hl=en&fs=1[/flash:3qwjvdou]
