      Hi all,

I'm not exactly a SU newbie, but I just started looking into DC's, and they seem pretty cool. However, for my purposes, DC animations are not particularly useful unless they can be exported as part of a SU animation. My question is therefore, is it possible to export DC animations somehow?

Unfortunately no. At least at this time, the DC animation is its own thing and cannot be used simultaneously with scenes, exporting, rendering - though I think some of the rendering folks are looking at trying to find a way to read the DC animation and integrate it into their renders. That might not be happening though, I don't really know. But currently, its not possible 😞

Thanks for the reply, Chris. Gosh, that sure renders (no pun intended) them useless for my purposes. It's difficult for me to imagine why Google would build animation capabilities into the product without the ability to somehow "record" them so they could be incorporated into a video or multimedia presentation somehow. What a disappointment. 😒

Have a look at the question about animation in the FAQ page here
            http://www.walkabout3d.com/faq.php

I haven't studied the other product they mention, but I wonder that does what you need.

Thanks for the info. They are interesting products, but they don't appear to do exactly what I need. Not only that, but I'm on a Mac, and they're Windows-only. Thanks though.

                My pleasure.

One thought though, 'if' their product can interact with SU animation or dynamic components, then others will hopefully follow. β˜€

nothing new at this point. They still can not be animated.

But there are animation plugins if that is what you need.

                        Hi Steve,

You should look into iShowU. There is an option to record without recording the cursor. It's a little bit of a hack, but it works. I am using the $60 pro version, but I believe the $30 standard version has the same ability to not record the cursor.

                        Here is an example:
