There's some great wood textures there, too, if you didn't notice.

@plot-paris said: [Edit] Damn, wanted this thread to appear in the 'Wish List' section of course. but now that I come to think of it, maybe that could be a sensible and realistic ruby request. could one of the moderators move this thread to the ruby-section? that would be fantastic. and sorry for the trouble [] I could!ve moved it there ut as there seem to be a couple of good solutions, I decided to move it to the main SU Discussiosn. Hi Jon, I'm not sure it will help but try to check "Correct reverse picking driver bug" under Windows (Sketchup on Mac) > Preferences > OpenGL settings.

The only problem with a SketchUcruise is that Coen is prone to sea sickness if I remember correctly maybe there are others. But the Med in Spring / Autumn is quite calm and on a big ship this is not a major problem. I DO think something could be organised along these lines and will work quietly way on it in the background. The main thing is that there is a willingness by a good number of Members to have a Conference. Mike

@voder vocoder said: Read about the Position Texture tool in the User's Guide. ~Voder Here: http://download.sketchup.com/sketchuphelp/gsu6_win/Content/D-Modification_Tools/ModTool-PositionTexture.htm right click the face (with the material in the wrong direction) go to Texture > Position Right click again and go to > Rotate... > choose the angle (I gues 90 degrees) Note that positioning a texture can only be performed on a single face; not on curved surfaces nor on groups/components (unless you turn on hidden geometry with surfaces or edit the groups/components). p.s. I merged your two posts (the one in the CMS forum with this one) about the same issue.

I don't know the script (never used) but I can imagine the default video is hard coded in it (it also says "beta").You an open the script in a plain text editor like Notepad and have a look if the link to the video is somewhere inside.

You should be able to pushpull that surface or otherwise use extrude lines ruby.

And how about sending .kmz files to your client? I bet Google Earth has a lot more users than SketchUp.

@gaieus said: Todd, If you've messed your model up with layers and such, the best would be to upload it here so that we can have a look. It's extremely hard to "imagine" the logic of such a mess... Gaieus, thanks. No, as I noted in my original post, I'm pretty good about doing all of the primary modeling on "Layer 0". What confused me was why SketchUp didn't create edges where it seemed they should be -- as in when a door frame ends up sitting a little below the wall depth of what I'd designed. As I mentioned, I was (mistakenly) told to use the "intersect" command(s) to create some edges where I wanted them, but it seems that just manually editing the particular component and adding an edge at the right depth is the way to go. I may have had the stray "remnants" from using the intersect command show up in different groups, but I realize I wasn't properly editing the group (or component) in question when that happened. Again, thanks for all the help.

I tried to make one but like I said earlier I'm not good at making or editing textures but you did an excellent job. Thanks again to everyone that helped... you will see this model in the gallery within the coming days!
