Fifo & Jim. Both your suggestions were very helpful regarding moving objects on the slanted surface. I was able to rotate the axis as well as slide it along the surface. Sliding didn't seem to work when I was using the Xray mode so I could see the hidden structure but with Xray turned off, did the job along with using construction lines for accuracy. Thank you all.

I accidentally made a group using a very questionable method in ruby which resulted in no style being applied to it. When I tried to save the model, it told me there were errors that needed to be fixed and then it promptly crashed su I took a screenshot at work Chris

I don't know why... what I've done is before trying to reinstall the SU, reinstall the fonts. I just took them all off the folder, then installed them back again. (took a few minutes, but ok) Windows restarted, Done! Is working fine now... Thanks guys!

Did you try to import the revised blocks manually?. When I need to update a component, I just delete it in the SU model, then import the dxf block, The blocks come into SU as components. Make sure that the coordinate system, and scale options are the same in both applications.

Hi RT, Have a look at this tutorial on creating the 3D walls of a house. It should be similar with a basement as well (although of course, there can be several other ways, too). As for the stairs, I'd draw one and Copy/Move it several times in a given (slanting) direction in a way described about 2/3 way down (look for "Linear array") on this page.

When you import a Google Snapshot, the 2D Snapshot image and the 3D Terrain are also locked and placed on their respective layers and the terrain (by default) is hidden. The Toggle terrain button changes their visibility but you can also do it manually.

Hi Nebraska, Like Cris says, there's no "naive" command to create a curve from a set of individual edges. There's a plugin however that is so essential that almost everyone has it and many of us often forget that it's not there "by default": Weld.rb. For an animation plugin like FlightPath.rb it is also needed since you need to have a single path for your camera places.

Many do that; exporting stills (not only jpeg's but also png's or even tiff's) and converting into a movie in an external editor. You always have better control on image quality,compression and all those fancy things SU has only basic settings for.
