Cleaning up your example only took a few seconds. I see what you're getting at though as far as drawing in the draft. Curvilot might be a solution for you. I think Offset and a couple of guidelines will be helpful, too. SUCalkLeftTopAndBottomShankDrafted.skp

I tried to rerender with different options you guys suggested, but nothing seems to work (except increasing render time ). I think it's the material of the lamp or something. When I move the lightsource down about 1 meter, I don't get the spots (but the light isn't coming from the lamp ofcourse). If I change the color of the lamp housing to black, the spots also disappear. Next, I tried to use a VRay material (plastic) but that didn't help neither. It seems that whenever I change the lamp material to something bright, It shows me the spots. When I use a dark material, the spots disappear. I'm at work now, so I can't show you the results right now. Tnx

@solo said: Do not make the background 0.0.0 lighten it a tiny bit. So first go back to white (so they turn black again) then make it 0.0.1 and the lines will stay black. use RGB selection Well, that was easy. I never thought of that. Thanks, Pete. Regards, _KN

Thanks for everyone's help, I did it the "hard" way with the awesome curviloft plug-in, and draping the CAD plan on to it. here is an image of the model base which(with the road the ramp and the parking) has small but multiple important curvatures. now theres something to build on.. Holy Toledo..... I think I did it in paint..... Not exact, but will work.for now.... But I'd still like to know how to do this properly, as the texture is somewhat different from the first when tiled..Thanks :O) [image: eoE4_zushibricklganew.JPG]

It would be plagiarism as I have read something similar before.

Yes, gluing/cutting components can only cut holes on raw geometry, not on groups/components (but of course, they should be able to cut that holeon the raw geometry inside a group/component) as Shura says. Once a component lost its ability to cut a hole (or has been unglued), it cannot retain this ability any longer with native SU tools however. Now we have a nifty plugin, "Superglue" by Thomthom that will re-glue (and cut) these components. Alan, you've dredged up an ancient topic. Things have changed since then. Google hasn't owned SketchUp in over 4 years and the 3D buildings that show in Google Earth are not SketchUp models like they were back when they did. You can search the 3D Warehouse to see if the original author might have shared the model or if someone else has created a model. If you have no luck, you'll most likely need to create the buildings on your own.

Solo, thank's for the "Sculptris", reference. Although I'll probably never us it for my primary work, it's really fun to use! It reminds me of a program from about '96, by Dazzle, maybe. But so much easier!

Dear John, The .sat file was created using AutoDesk's Inventor 11. If you want to weld the 40 segments of the circle, then soften the group first. After softening, Chris Fullmer's tool for finding the centre point can be used. Also note, the SU model needs to be scaled by 0.01 (I forgot to do this before posting). Hope this helps. Regards, Bob

Not sure, but this might help you. I think that you may have to rotate your model before slicing, as a quick read is that it slices in the x, z plane.
