The file I attached above is to scale and was made in the same way as EarthMover, with the exception that I used shape bender to curve the original component so the whole ring is round instead of faceted.

Very nice to see the anatomy of how the icons where made. I was pondering on that when I was trying to make some icons in matching style. The line-weight is much more thicker than I'd expected. They seem to have used some custom Style. [image: DI5l__0007_Stamp.png]

Just remember that perspective does not vary with focal length. Perspective varies as the camera to subject distance and angle changes.

Jeff and Edson, You are right on! I unzipped the files in another location and just brought over the guts to the plugins file. Everything is working great now! This is very encouraging as I have struggled with this for a couple of weeks on my own and haven't found much help on google. Thanks for your time to help out the newbies.

If we could think about making a ToolsObserver for the affected tools [i.e. followme etc] that might spot if edges/faces were going to be too small... it could then warn you in advance... I made a proto-pre-observer-version in PipeAlongPath where it stalls with an error message, if the radius of the pipe and its bend are within certain limits, as faces that are tool small might then result...

My 'Slicer' is designed to do just that - it lays them out 'flat' but you do need to set up the printing to scale part yourself... http://rhin.crai.archi.fr/rubylibrarydepot/plugin_details.php?id=395

I did make it work by going back to my models and setting them to have no Geo-Locations and this worked. I was able to import my models. But it still seems messed up in SU V.8 when you do have a Geo-Referenced SU model to import and the dialog does not come up to ask you if you want to choose location or place in the geo-referenced location.

Anssi, ran as administrator and it took my license info just fine...thanks a bunch! I'll play awhile to see if I need to use compatibility mode. Made my day, Tom.

If you draw your arc on the piece, get your Push/Pull tool, then tap the [CTRL] key you should be able to push the arc through leaving some stuff on the underside. Now select the part and all of the stuff that was added by the Push/Pull and intersect with selected. Now carefully erase your unneeded geometry being careful not to delete the arc intersecting the underside of the surface. That arc completes the bottom surface and you should be good to go.

Yep, almost all renderer's will give a free trial period... that is certainly the thing to do before simply going off a recommendation on a message board. The biggest mistake I see people make with their choice of software is going by the results somebody else was able to get -- in the right hands almost any renderer is going to produce excellent results... the question you need to ask is how much of what you see is just post-production adjustments(which can be very significant). Best, Jason.

@unknownuser said: Window>Preferences>OpenGL That seems to be working. My selected-area-hatching is back. Thanks a lot, you too Gaieus, I checked but face style was set to blue.

I agree with Jean... except that I make my 'selection-colour' is a little more 'orange' [255,200,30]... because sometimes 'pure-yellow' doesn't display so well and 'orange' isn't a commonly used colour either...
