You're welcome...and FWIW, the solid tools in SU Pro wouldn't have helped in this case, as the upright that you are cutting isn't solid

For the PDF export control of ambient light and specular reflection is possible. Thanks to Amer I can use it too (no clue about JavaScript myself). http://simlabforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=423

Yes, it sounds perfect. I'll try both options and see which is best for my work-flow. Thank you again (for both helping and the plugin ;o) )

@redmotion said: I want to align textures on one component with those on several others (using Texture > position) but when I edit the component all other components turn grey/untextured. Is there any way to have textures display on everything while editing one component? No, I don't think SU ever displayes texture of components in higher levels when you are in editing context of a group or component. First question could also be interpreted as: .....all other completely differentcomponents with same texture turn grey/untextured. If so, you need to apply extra geometry (edge or guide) outside editing context by eyeballing, to mark how you do want to make changes to the textures position. See simple example in attached file: pre-marked texture position for aligning with neighboring group.

Hi Frank. First, thank you so much for working with me and having a great test case from which I was able to "fix" closeopens to work more efficiently. As I rewrote closeopens, the first step, as you know, was to modify progressbar to allow the user to choose to cancel the process. After I did that, I went to rewrite the algorithm used by closeopens to make it MUCH more efficient. IIRC, the processing time for your model went from INFINITY (as in, it never did finish) to 52 seconds. I was excited about modifying progressbar to make it V2, and have it apply globally to all the scripts that used it, but I was not able to crack that nut without also having a requirement to also modify each and every script that called it to allow the canceling of the process. This is where Progressbar 2.0 died. However, closeopens does have Progressbar 2.0 functionality built-in, and, I have stalled bring closeopens to market, for some time now. And, while some attempts have been made by me to get it ready for packaging, I have broken the new copy. This is where I stand. I need to fix it, again, and then publish it. I will do this - but cannot promise when right now. My day job is demanding, and so are extra-curricular activities. Todd

I have Podium, Kerky , Twilight, plus I have played with Shaderlight, Hypershot and Vray for SU. After seeing Pete's Demo in boulder of Thea, I am leaning toward a purchase of that. What does this mean??? I'm rendo-schizophrenic. And I suck at all of them.

thanks, it wasn't the tracing depth issue, but your post helped me to find out, it was transparency level default setting that was too low, i raised it to 500 and now everything is fine.

you know when you smooth geometry with SDS and the size of your mesh scales down slighly? Tgi's 'up-sample' uses a fancy algorithm to smooth but keep things to size. There are other features that are pretty good but that's another time...

@pixero said: Well, it's hard to say how fast anyone will learn Photoshop but I use it a lot to incorporate both people, trees and more. There is lots of ready to use cutout trees availble and after a while you'll want to photograph your own and make your custom library of images. Be sure to learn how to color adjust the images so they match the lighting of the render. Here is a good place to start: http://vyonyx.com/category/tuts/ Great tutorials and also some trees and people for download. Another thing. If you're serious about Photoshop you should get yourself a wacom pen. Makes life soo much easier in Photoshop. Cheers for that. Long time ago, about 2 years, I bought a Wacom tablet for Sketchup after watching Ironman, but I realised the mouse was so much better ,plus i needed the money at university for Booze and smokes so i sold it. Should have kept it lol

I think it's much better now! However the frame rate still seems to be a bit jaggy. How many frame per second did you export it?

@riverivan said: I have the same problem to rotate the match photo, please provide the name of the plugin. Many Thanks You don't need to rotate the photo. You may need to re-orient the axes. You can just re-orient them directly without a plugin or if you want to redefine solar north, get the Solar North plugin from the Extension Warehouse.
