Fur is great, but I have issues trying to fur an entire front lawn.
True. The trick is to only place grass from where you intend to render, Hence in this photo there is no grass/fur plugin used(Behind the house) since that plane is hidden.

unfortunately, the scale is way off there. That's much coarser than real grass. To get it fine enough, you would run out of memory pretty quick.

I believe Half Life 3 will come before SU9

Yes, proxies will make it in the next official version of VFSU. According to
the person (he/she wants to remain anonymous as you can understand) , there are significant viewport like performance issues and animation may not be released in this version. He/She says the upcoming version of vfsu will blow your mind, esp. for landscaping.
From my years of experience , if your surface is not
Then
Go for make fur plugin. Its works well with short and small corners, giving it that realistic look
Below are some attachments.
This took 2 mins to render. Not sure why you took 45mins
Afer Vray and plugin --->

Hi everyone,
I have a problem in Sketchup pro8 when I want to render a highpoly model. When I go over 200 MB, I cannot render, Vray just don't open a frame buffer.
My configuration in laptop is prity good Interl i7, 8 GBB DDR3, Intel HD graphic card recognized in SketchUp OPEN GL.Thank you all in advance for any advice
I have had similar issues but eventually the frame buffer loaded and it took 2 days to render a scene due to extreme amounts of displacement mapping. I did however monitor my cpu usage to ensure that vray was doing its pre-calculations and it was. Perhaps someone has a better method or know how.

Over 3400 free vfsu mats. But if you use them and like the mats, pls donate. He also sells you the entire collection on a dvd
for cheap $.

I used cobblestone, road1 and gravel mats found on his site. Excellent quality , no low res limitations.

Hi everybody! I use Sketchup from 3 years, but i don't know how to make this shape in attachment..
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
Bending, transforming, etc are easy to. FOr extreme warping use tgi3d warp on top of the basic tools. Render is in vray
I heard that photoshop is better at this task. But i have no idea how PS works.
I do know that HDRI 360 images do the trick. One of my friends does it by taking multiple high res shots from the
place and stitch them into a single hdri 360 shot and inserts his rendered image to get a match. He does do some
focal blurring of the background.
