Fast Feedback has to do with the way your graphics card is utilized. Turning it off can help improve performance when the GPU doesn't fully support OpenGL.

I am not able to duplicate the problems with the baseplate visibility in section or the missing face in the foundation. The foundation shows all 101 entities in Layer0. Changing the roof framing layer visibility does not affect it for me. If we are seeing that no other users are experiencing the same problems with your models as you do, you might try Unchecking "Use fast feedback" under "SketchUp / Preferences / OpenGl" tab. (i.e. that would indicate a graphics card problem). Check if the graphics card driver is up to date. Clearly you don't want faces and edges to be on other layers besides Layer0. Only assign other layers to groups and components. If you are following this, at it seems you are trying, then the only thing I might suggest is to try the "Default layer geometry" plugin to periodically check that all your edges and faces are in Layer0. In regard to the section / baseplate question, view the model without the section cut selected, but active. Also uncheck (off) "View / Section Planes". Why don't you set up some scenes using sections that you want, and see how the scenes turn out?

@Philw, as Dave R mentions, you need to update to the latest version of SketchUcationTools: Download the SketchUcationTools RBZ from: https://sketchucation.com/resources/plugin-store-download Open SketchUp 2019 Select (Menu) Window -> Extension Manager Click Install Extension button Select the downloaded RBZ file Restart SketchUp

Thanks for everybody for suggestions/tips. I will need to do some testing. I was also thinking that maybe I will try to take the created geometry to Blender and test if I can use Blender for making the whole with soft edges.

Good luck. I think if you are still seeing crashes, Vray is the next suspect. Other people have reported issues with Vray so it's a good one to check.

Hi everyone, I came across this thread while looking for discussions about generating threads in SketchUp. I know it's an old topic, but since it still gets a lot of views, I thought it might be useful to share a solution I've developed. [image: 1741950723105-cover.jpg] I’ve created a SketchUp plugin that automates the creation of threaded parts (bolts, nuts, internal threads, etc.). What makes it different is that it generates threads from a custom tooth profile, making it compatible with any type of thread, including multi-start threads. Key Features: Generate threaded rods, nuts, and internal threads in just a few clicks Works with any thread profile – metric, imperial, trapezoidal, custom, etc. Supports multi-start threads Here’s a demo video showcasing how it works: https://youtu.be/Fkf5j-hS8sU?si=-xgwl_lkRdeAQph9 (The video is in French, but you can turn on YouTube subtitles and auto-translation.) The plugin is available here: For the US users: https://fabcnc.gumroad.com/l/threads-filetages For the EU users: https://payhip.com/b/3j7ZF If anyone here still needs an easy way to create threads in SketchUp, I’d love to hear your thoughts! There's no setting to prevent textures outside of the context of the component from fading when editing it. What behavior are you wanting that you don't get with an imported image? They can be moved and rotated around the model space, you can infer to their face. The only thing you can't do is extrude it to make a 3D shape.

If you are using SketchUp for your business, no matter what you earn, you need to be using SketchUp Pro or SketchUp Shop. The free versions aren't licensed for commercial use.

@baz said: @juju said: Google Earth licencing no longer supports images being grabbed from it for use in SketchUp (amongst others). Hi JuJu, Am I misunderstanding? From within SketchUp you can still grab locations and terrain...File/Geo-location/Add location. Isn't that what the OP wanted? Hello, baz! The question i put was really about Google Earth terrain grabbing just because i noticed that Google Earth seams to give a more detailed presentation of 3D terrains. Of course I've used the Add Location with Sketchup but somehow i imagine that the results present DigitalGlobe engine could perhaps be as good as i imagined with Google Earth. Salutations, guys. I am finding SU slow to load as well, too many plugins, I suspect. I am in the habit of always having SU open, even if just a blank file.

@unknownuser said: I thought about the follow me tool, it could do the same right? Depending if you need the automatic "Gorge" or not! @unknownuser said: is it better to leave all the sides I want to bend open and leave the manufacture bend it with their mecanical machines or is it better to already bend it with Skp? Curstomer draws, manufaturer bends! So maybe better gives open pieces...with explanations of what do you want!
