Could you upload the SKP file for your part? You say you are using SketchUp 2015. If I remember correctly, that was a long time ago, after all, STL export was only available through a plugin. I don't remember enough of that plugin but there is probably a place to set export options. Is there a reason you aren't using SketchUp 2017? It has a native STL exporter and there are options to set related to size and such.

Excellent on the driver update thing. I'm glad that helped. We had a lot of snow back in February and March. I'd have gladly shipped it to you if I could.

To update references on change of a global, one needs to do a "redraw" as per the context menu for each component, rather than do this manually, a simple ruby script can be attached to a button as per https://forums.sketchup.com/t/redraw-all-dynamic-components/77512 https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=ae_ToolbarEditor where else a component instance will update to the current global on insert. Can you share the main focus of your use of DCs? as its quite likely other scripts will be useful.

@dave r said: Enjoy your GOT and sleep. I've never seen the former and only see the latter once in awhile. Ok, traced in LO and got a good result. Have to consider this a workaround tho'. And a bit of a pain as easy to miss endpoints in LO. (No option to toggle endpoints) Thanks for the help Dave. Cheers.

@baz said: Check Preferences/Open GL. And see if the settings are different... I switched that around some and didn't see anything. I didn't do a side by side comparison though. One thing that is new is that Mac now has AA settings built-in. They don't seem to affect this... maybe a little, because the lines are cleaner.

HUD is kind of a good analogy. The image can be of a 3D object but of course it will be a 2D representation because it's an image.

@skavan said: don't understand the benefit of converting it to a Catmull Spline - perhaps Dave R can explain...and when I did it, I noticed some funny loops, so I performed this procedure without that step. The Catmull spline created a smoother curve. In your example you have straight runs of tiles along the longer straight segments and then a more severe angle when the next segment comes along. With the smoother curve I created, more tiles get tapered but that'll likely be more realistic. As long as you are satisfied with what you've got, that's fine. As for the "funny loops", I'm not sure what that's about. I didn't see any when I did it.

@pbacot said: Yes, Mike but it happens in this case a lot and I am pretry goood at typoiing otherwise. Sorry. That made me laugh. @pbacot said: It's possible typing "s" afterward helps some of the time. "s" shouldn't be necessary in Entity Info. It used to be required if you were making the adjustment before drawing a circle but it isn't anymore. When you are changing the setting in Entity Info, are you selecting the existing number and then just overtyping? Or are you selecting the existing value and deleting it before typing the new number?

That particular extension was withdrawn by its author, after there was a copyright infringement notice issued via Google - it seemed spurious, but it still seems unresolved. You could try a direct PM to the author [SDMitch] ?

Nevermind my previous note. See how it works once you get rid of the manhole. That seems to help. But if you keep losing section cuts, try moving the model to a new file.

I'd like to see an example file that shows the problem you are having. i frequently adjust the stretch geometry with the Move tool and infer to entities outside the current group or component with no problem.
