How to fold/bend
-
Most of the parts in any metallic conception are folded, then soldered to another one.
I notified it's like to bend a cardboard, so we would have rounded 90 degrees angles after bending it. In Skp, I assemble two elements corner to corner and in the empty surface, I add a quarter of circle to make the angular bending. But I'd like to bend them without cheating.
Is it possible to do it with Skp? Or, if not possible, how many would be the diameter of the added circle for two 1mm thick elements? Thanks!!

Sheet Metal Bender by the Genious SdMitch!
Not a real "folding" but...result will be the same!
Go here for have numerous images about that!
ps I suppose you must be registered to the French SketchUcation section! )
examples (i don't know if you can see the French section image following post here ? )2 parameters are possible: inner radius and rotation angle
The 1st click selects the side that will be extruded
the 2nd indicates the edge used as a pivot
The Shift key is used to reverse the direction of extrusion.
The Tab key is used to validate a value in the parameter table.
A Left click validates the extrusion.
A Right click allows you to exit the plugin.A few notes:
Do not work on a group (break up before use)
A punctual press on Ctrl before a Push Pull allows to keep the generators of the first surfaceFor a radius-free extrusion for other thing than folding, (ovoid the real gorge created by the plug) the tool Circle Part .
Curviloft select the 3 faces + Edges + Double Click then apply third icon!
etc

Thanks!!
Yes I can see the images.
By watching your images, I thought about the follow me tool, it could do the same right?
I want to reproduce this kind of bending (pls see pics), and for the moment I did like that: I left a space on the corners to add the quarter of circle later.p.s. when I will bring my .dwg file to the manufacture, is it better to leave all the sides I want to bend open and leave the manufacture bend it with their mecanical machines or is it better to already bend it with Skp?

Depending if you need the automatic "Gorge" or not!

Curstomer draws, manufaturer bends!
So maybe better gives open pieces...with explanations of what do you want!
