I would suggest you rename your post "Plugin request, woodworking".

As TIG says, welding edges will result in a curve but even welding a succession of straight lines into a longer 'straight' line will still have Entity Info report said line as a 'curve'. It seems that SU will report any welded lines as curves no matter that each original segment was in the same plane/angle/alignment.

@mike211248 said: Hi Tig When I model in SketchUp 2017 as it is installed on the computer at the moment, the following happens: When I apply a texture to the drawing, all that appears is the colour of the texture. Two common reasons for this one. First, you have Face Style set to Shaded, not Shaded with Textures. [image: 9xzY_Screenshot-6_18_20197_21_21AM.png] The other one is your model is created at a much larger scale than appropriate for the texture. If you zoom in close, can you see the texture?

Thanks pcmoor, your a legend. I just checking it out now. Thanks for doing that. I do struggle with the DC functions. Once I have an example I'm usually right but they seem hard to find, & trying to work it out using the support documentation usually means I end up using trial & error, which tends to make a dog's breakfast of things:-) I managed to get the sleepers to copy on X axis yesterday by making own sub-component like you did, but then had issues getting my posts to copy to right spots & issues with post lengths not matching wall heights etc. I like how you calculated the REMAINDER. I like how your brain works, obviously a lot better than mine..lol. Cheers mate.

Actually I tried it and I didn't have a problem doing it your way with follow-me, so I don't know what is stopping you, without checking the file. I placed the sliver for the follow me, and I had to hide the outside face of the shape to click on the sliver for the operation. There are many ways to do this. You may have less clean-up if you start your sliver shape lower down at the inside edge of the miter. The finish work at the miter is similar but you aren't left with extra geometry inside of the shape. You could have used follow-me on the whole path (including the upper rounding) and it would be faster. Hi All. _ Have solved the mystery - and I think its a bug in the software. If you start with a new sheet/drawing then the coordinates displayed by the text tool are correct in relation to the reference point (Origen) [0,0,0]. However if you change the axis at all then the coordinates displayed by the text tool are still relative to the original axis and Origen. The only point in space that is updated to the new Origen is 0,0,0 (or any combination). I found this be creating some boxes and moving then to points in space with the MOVE[x,y,z]. This worked perfectly until I changed the Origen - then s--t happened. Thanks for reading the post.

If you mean, how do you ensure SketchUp is properly install, then you can Repair it... Whilst logged into Windows as your normal user-account, ensure SketchUp is closed. Find the SketchUp installer's exe file - usually in your Downloads folder. Select its icon, right-click > context-menu > "Run as administrator" When prompted choose "Repair" [for a new installation choose "Install"] When it completes restart SketchUp... Doing the repair should leave any customization as it is - e.g. installed Plugins. All folder/file permissions should have been reset properly. The one exception is any customized preferences - like LibFredo's - if these were made with bad permissions by an earlier badly installed SketchUp it can cause issues - there are separate instructions for this in that Extension's thread... you simply delete its prefs folder and SketchUp recreates it with proper permissions. Installing SketchUp in any other way - e.g. by double-clicking its installer exe file to "Run" it will lead to all kinds of unexpected issues, often centering on bad file permissions and unsaved settings across sessions etc... Having admin-powers is NOT the same as using "Run as administrator" on the installer's exe file.

I'm afraid TT's 'Groups to Components' plugin wont work for this application due to transformations made to the groups - windows rotated to each side of the house. You may have better luck with S4u's s4u_toComponents http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=484308#p484308 It is $20, but worth it if you're doing professional work...(if your working with archicad then you're doing professional work). I even use it in place of SU's native create component command...it's much faster, if you don't need the dialog...which you only generally need if you're making a cutting or follow me component. (I work with Archicad exports...so I feel your pain...)

Of course SketchUp doesn't come with any fonts. It uses the fonts included on the system. If you still have the installer file you could try installing SketchUp again but I wouldn't hold my breath. Keep in mind that SketchUp 2015 doesn't support High Sierra. It was released almost three years after SU2015.

You can lock into an axis or inference direction with the shift key. The axes directions can also be locked in with the arrow keys as well. I'm not sure how the gizmo is more helpful. I use ThomThoms vertex tools gizmo and it's OK for some things but it means you can't get the snaps (as far as I can tell). If you just try moving a little before you get a constrained direction it will tend to just snap where you don't want.Sometimes you have to move too far or the opposite direction first to find the axis direction. But no there isn't a native gizmo for SketchUp. Try some of the tutorials on the move tool.
