@gmthompson said: removing the rb from the plugins folder has resolved the crashing Apart from the extension needing to be compatible with SU2019Pro, which I am not sure of as I do not use it. What method did you use for installation? From the sounds of it you copied and pasted the *.rb file into the SketchUp folders. If so, this the wrong approach, you need to install it using the Extension Manager, also uninstall / remove it using the Extension Manager. Cudos for trying to be more efficient though!

Components should be saved via right click context menu and "saveas" to appropriate folders on your computer, or 3D warehouse > share component, not as a file containing the component, otherwise the installed component will be a file with the component placed at the position in the file. You will find the reloaded component is the file with the component inside. [image: j57o_Capture2.JPG] Once a path is created to a folder, the swap DC should return to that point, you can change the default via window>preferences>files then change component location via the icon. [image: eOB7_Capture.jpg] There is a difference between reload and swap, in that attributes are not updated to the current so a steel beam length will not update to a timber beam length on a reload There maybe another issue, but without a model, can only guess

Edge color by axis as a built-in tolerance that will accept edges slightly off axis. Sometimes, as here, edges that are close enough for it to color are off by minute amounts that can mess up other operations. One would have hoped SketchUp could be more consistent, but evidently that's harder than it sounds!

Check to see if the dropdown menu is hiding out on a DIFFERENT screen: I had the same problem (with Fredo6 animator). I tried everything, even completely uninstalling Sketchup and reinstalling it, but I still couldn't see the dropdown menu for Animator, even though in the View>Toolbars menu it appeared there, and the checkbox was checked. Finally I saw that it was on one of my OTHER screens, not the screen that Sketchup was on (the dropdown was pretty tiny, and I have three different screens). All I had to do was drag the menu over to the screen with Sketchup on it.

I forgot to mention I hid the lines between each adjoining surface. Once I unhid the adjoining line the surfaces extruded properly, without re-orientation.

Great, thanks for the recommendations, I'm starting to get used to Sketchup (I got it a while ago, but lost hope after a couple minutes, now I'm back at it) and it's as awesome as I wanted it to be, but the cluttered screen was definitely annoying.

Just realised that the insertion point (Component axis) of the pump should have been set at the mid point between the two valves. Revised SKP attached. Component orientation revised.skp

This market share might be data that is of interest to a number of Sketchup users/ developers. Can I suggest setting up a simple survey (one question, tick the boxes)? The Sketchucation admins may be prepared to co-operate, or you could set up one on something like Google Forms (I'm not a fan of Survey Monkey, but its a possibility. You would need to promote i on the other sketchup sites/ forums, for completeness. My only request is ... if you do this - make really simple; as above.

Thanks TIG, I will definitely have a look again. To be honest this is turning into a bit of a headache, all I'm trying to achieve is turning one thing a different colour and back, just thought if I gave it a go it would save me time in the long run. I'll give this another go in a day or so but for now I'm just going to have to do things the old fashioned way and make two of everything in different colours. This DC stuff has gotten me well and truly beaten for now. Thank you so much for commenting TIG, I really appreciate the help. Kind regards mitch7780
