I'd imagine that phone support is when you have exhausted the knowledge centre, forum and email support.... http://help.sketchup.com/en/contact/pro-support I do know they will work through issues over the phone but have you explored the other options first?

You might have a look at a plugin called Cloud and then Triangulate Points.

How do you know it is a component near the origin? CutList doesn't report coordinates.

Thanks pbacot. I looked into trying to make the walls and floors of the modules into solid groups in order to use the outer shell tool. But I couldn't make them solid. I assumed it was because I had gluey cutting windows and doors nested into the walls. Does that sound right?

Look at this link for books by Bonnie Roskes (et al): http://sketchupdate.blogspot.com/2011/03/new-sketchup-8-books-from-bonnie-roskes.html That is for version 8, but the principles haven't changed. I have a book by her published for version 5.

@shaan36 said: hi jim i wanna ask you one question i this footing component when i open this file all the every element is different but when i insert this file it is come correctly and also it show the green arrow symbol as DC symbol i could i do that check my file...in same file it shows all parameter but when i insert it in different the file i can't see the parameters. please guide You are seeing the difference between Importing the file and Opening the file. When working with a DC like this which has many sub-components and requires the top-most component to have attributes, you should keep a separate "master" model. I sometimes use WIP (work-in-progress) in the master filename: "dynamic-footing-wip.skp" Then when you are ready to use or share the DC, you right-click the DC and select "Save As" giving it the proper name for the DC. Or you can upload directly to the 3D Warehouse for use in the Component Browser by right-clicking the component and selecting "Share Component." If you try to import the master model, you need to explode it once to get to the parameters. SketchUp automatically "wraps" the imported file in a Component.

Here is one of the simplest alignment tools. Two clicks and the faces or edges you choose join together. You still need to use groups or components to to make whole piece align as it will just move faces or edges individually. In the very short vid you will see me group your woofer, then align the base of the magnet to the box face, then change that to align the frame of the speaker. You'll find this plugin called s4u_AlignTool by clicking this link http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323%26amp;t=53715, or downloadable directly within sketchup via the sketchucation store plugin. I've never had any problem with CutList not working. I've used it for a number of years without problem. what do you mean by a rounding error? What dimension is getting rounded? Which version of the plugin are you using? As for the difference between "paint" and "material", I don' think there is any. I think they are used interchangeably although I suppose some would refer to simple solid colors as paint while a texture image might be referred to as a material. In terms of the cutlist and materials, you could use solid colors so as not to have to deal with grain orientation and give the colors wood names or whatever you like.

@olishea said: My logitech rbq124 does this. I have to use the side scroll wheel. I've got used to it now, but it really annoyed me. Changed all the settings, set orbit to middle mouse button to no avail. I changed settings in both SU and mac system preferences but nothing worked. Orbit on that mouse works OK for me. If you are not too habituated to what you have now you could try once again... On the Scroll Wheel setup, choose one of the start modes of SmartShift other than 'shift manually between modes' as shift manually uses Scroll Wheel Button. Scroll Wheel Button arrows will no longer be greyed out and you can choose middle click. . [image: ocpr_018.png] [image: dsbH_019.png]

The T100 was primarily for my wife so she doesn't hog my PC. Putting SU on it was for when we travel and then I can keep my brain and fingers active. Can't do SU on my Blackberry phone. As for the T100 small screen, well, my PC is a dual screen (24in primary, 19in secondary). I keep most dialogs (materials, components and layers) active on #2 and only toolbars and Entity Info on #1. That gives me a huge work area. Dual screens also allow me to keep an Excel spreadsheet open on #2 when I am doing calculations and other stuff. Sorta gotten used to that so a postcard screen was a shock. I knew it would be small, but did not expect that to be so intrusive on using SU effectively, till I tried it. I also have a USB 4 port hub attached to the single USB3 port on the T100. To that hub I attach a tiny USB mouse and my USB Thumbdrive for PC <-> T100 files transfer. The T100 also has a micro HDMI port, which I have yet to try.

The scanned image isn't the same size as the originally exported template image. Resize it so it is and it'll work fine.
