@dan rathbun said: @ntxdave said: I have tried various things like modifying the path name to my .dae files, ... If it helps, my environment is Win 8.1 with IE 11.096.............. You may need to prefix with file:// or file://localhost/ Thanks for the reply......... Here are the statements that reference the file name and location (this is the way the sample code that I downloaded was coded and the .dae file was located in a subdirectory of where I put the downloaded code) // Specifier le chemin du fichier collada | specify path for collada file var scene = CubicVR.loadCollada("Sketchup/solaire.dae","Sketchup"); var objectBounds = scene.getSceneObject("Sketchup").getAABB(); I tried several variations of your suggestion including the file:// and the full path name on the hard drive to the file. Still nothing but a blank page. It should be noted that I am not running server software but this is the only page that has failed to display. The page does come up but it is blank. BTW: There is also a css style coded as canvas{ background: #fff url('voie-lactee.jpg') center no-repeat !important; } which does not display either. If I change canvas to body, the image background is displayed. Again, any feedback that anyone can give me is greatly appreciated.

Most dogs, including mine, do not have the slightest idea that they are any different from us. Looks like it passes the test!! That was my plan also was to make a side table. Oh well, nice job on the design though. Tell your brother good job on the construction too. Now wonder it looks so good... [image: 6kB2_084.JPG]

FWIW, I didn't have to do any of that. All I did is what I described. The image you imported was already set as 'Projected' so sampling it and applying it to the surfaces inside the component did the trick. Not nearly so many steps as Pilou used.

mmmm thats rigth, i think its not a good mode to work, because we need to load again the texture from the original imagen file, and we lost some time, the edit mode maybe can work better. pbacot, yeah thats the happen, on windows the edit mode, change to other tab on same windows, then u cant ruin your texture. and the other think, the problem whit the edit texture fail, i try to change access atributes to all folder tem on MAC and still fail the edit texture. saludos amigos!

Maybe you can find useful Axes tools by Thomthom when Axis of object(s) is anywhere inside the object(s)!

To me, the purpose of the object would define the method. Ido buildings. In fact I am avoiding working on my project at this moment .. So I would normally see a wall going up to a ceiling or a roof, and an intersection with or extrusion to that surface(s) would be the method. For a sculptural shape, the top is up to the artist of course, and method varies.

@dave r said: Since you are running the pro version of SketchUp, install it again. You probably still have the downloaded file from when you last downloaded it. Or download it again. It'll renew your Default materials library. If you are getting rid of unused styles in your In Model library, don't delete them manually. Use Purge Unused from the Details menu instead. It's easier and faster and safer since you don't get the purge option in the Details menu unless you are looking at the In Model library. Thanks for the reply Dave. This was a dumb mistake on my part. I have 2013 installed on another laptop so I just went there and copied them and reinstalled on this machine. I realized what I had done as soon as I did it. I was just trying to make sure I did not have styles in my model that I did not want but forgot to click on the "Model" button before deleting. At least I know I have a backup copy now

When you import the image as a texture and apply it to a face in SketchUp, it becomes a material in the In Model Materials library. You can then choose that material from the library and apply it to other faces in the model. I would suggest you go to the Help menu and use the Knowledge Base tools to read up on The Paint Bucket tool and textures before you go back to working in SketchUp.

Here's a solution that I tried out and it works relatively well. 1- Ungroup everything in your car model. 2- Make a copy of the car (if you only need two views, front and side views) 3- Viewing each copy separately in each orthographic view of front and side, use the Artisan knife tool to slice the car in half. Delete the back half of the car in the one model and a side of the car in the other (the idea here is to get rid of any pieces that when flattened into a pancake we do not want to see IE the back of the car...). 4- Use Vertex Tools or any scaling tool that allows you scale an object to absolute flat zero and flatten each instance of the car pieces to the appropriate plane. Essentially the idea here is to crunch the car by scaling into a single plane but getting rid of the details of the opposite sides when merged together. For your side view you might be able to just scale the vehicle without cutting it in half, but you might end up extra unwanted polygons depending on how well the two sides of the car mirror each other.

@box said: Have you by any chance altered the default icon size in your windows settings. i don't think so. Can i decrease it? @aerilius said: Screenshot? V8 [image: v89pjhk.png] V2014 [image: v201457kzv.png] And btw. WHY does the Photomatch window has to be wider now than before and than the other windows?!? I really doesn't make any sense to me... no new info or buttons - just more space on the left side. If you dock it the other windows will also get wider... @aerilius said: I believe the incentive for the 4px margin introduced in 2013 was to have a cleaner workspace and better distinguishable buttons. I believe it was referred to scientific studies. For me it is the opposite... Less icons possible and even more space needed.

I find that happens whenever I switch from Perspective to Parallel Projection. All I do to solve it is zoom extents, which works a bit like a "regen" in ACAD.

@keithwins said: .... Is this common? It doesn't seem to have anything to do with turning section planes or cuts visibility on or off. When they're broken, I can move them and they act just like Section Cuts vis is off. I have had this happen...though I thought it was related to putting the section plane(s) on a layer. They will no longer cut....no matter what you try....ative/inactive...put back on default layer. "It" hasn't happened to me in a while, and so I never did figure out why. Can you post a file with a broken section plane? (maybe Trimble would like to see it) Best, Charlie
