Broken section planes
-
Periodically, my section planes break. Now, it may be that this happens when I raise them out of the way so they don't cut anything, while I do something. In any case, when this happens I have to delete them and recreate them, and then they work again. Is this common? It doesn't seem to have anything to do with turning section planes or cuts visibility on or off. When they're broken, I can move them and they act just like Section Cuts vis is off.

I've never run into this but then I wouldn't have thought of moving a section plane to get it out of my way. I'd just turn it off. Turning the section plane off would get it out of the way and I wouldn't have to move it back when I'm ready for it again.
If turning off the section plane doesn't work for you for some reason and you must move the section plane instead, draw some temporary object that the section plane can continue to cut after you've moved it. When you're finished moving the section plane, delete the temporary object.

I have had this happen...though I thought it was related to putting the section plane(s) on a layer.
They will no longer cut....no matter what you try....ative/inactive...put back on default layer."It" hasn't happened to me in a while, and so I never did figure out why.
Can you post a file with a broken section plane? (maybe Trimble would like to see it)
Best,
Charlie
