jerry, if you do a lot of wood textures on curved surfaces you might want to download the Fredo Tools plugin. in the package is ThruPaint it makes orienting wood grain on curves a lot easier than with the native tool. chuck.

See this topic for some discussion of what can go wrong at the opposite extreme of values larger than SketchUp was designed to handle: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=79%26amp;t=60229

@tig said: You cannot drag-and-drop files from Windows Explorer onto a program's window if that program is running as administrator. An application with a lower privilege cannot talk to a higher [admin] one. And weirdly Windows Explorer never runs as admin ! So try changing your SketchUp.exe properties > compatibility to NOT run as admin ! This might cause other issues [like permissions etc if you didn't initially install it as an admin] - BUT it will then allow drag-and-drop of Image files onto SketchUp ! I just came into the forum to tell you I solved the issue by unchecking "run as admin", and lo and behold, you've beat me to it! You've already replied. Thanks Tig! It works!

The 'About SketchUp' should look like this: [image: 3kTO_Capture.PNG] for the latest version of v2014... You should be able to Install it in such a way that will update it to be the latest v2014. If it's offering a Repair and you choose that route, then can I assume it does not update it to the current version ?? Your ultimate option is to uninstall your out-of-date v2014, as it offers you: and then re-install it cleanly... It will keep any previous licensing files, custom Plugins, Materials, Components, Styles etc, but you will loose all toolbar statuses, dialog setups etc that are Registry dependent...

I saw that page. Since it didn't say anything about 8 at the top I didn't scroll down...Looks like I am set for 8. Now to go to 2014. Though not sure why.

Hi Skalp, I downloaded your plugin last week and I really love it. The only draw back I can see is that the hatches are bitmaps in Layout. This results in poor quality print outs and large file sizes when exporting PDFs. Any chance that you'll introduce vector hatches in future, or is that a limitation of Layout that is beyond your control? I've tried using the skalp export to DXF command, but it seems to only include the section cut. It would be great if there were an option to include the objects beyond the section plane as well. Great plugin, thanks a lot!

Maybe triangulate points by TIG if you have a cloud of points and / or Toposhaper by Fredo6 if you have level lines...

Set up the view with the camera set to Parallel Projection. Export as a 3D CAD file instead of 2D.
