Great, thanks. I've just been watching Youtube tutorials, but these are much more helpful πŸ˜„

    • Cannot Create Windows

I am trying to carve out windows in my home, but am having trouble doing so. Previously, I have had trouble creating doors, but that was solved in another thread as my walls were not parallel to each other. Since then, I have made my walls parallel, but the windows do not appear.

I have been creating my windows in this fashion:

      1. Draw a rectangle on my surface
      2. Use the Push/Pull tool to push the rectangle through the wall
      3. Result is that a rectangular opening should appear

My result is that the the rectangle gets pushed into the wall, but does not create a hole in the wall. What am I doing incorrectly?

    • Cannot Create Doors - 'Offset Limited To...'

I am trying to create a door. I have a rectangle against my wall. I use to Push/Pull tool to try to push the rectangle through the wall but the push gets stuck. I receive the error Offet limited to ~5 13/16" (my walls are 6' thick). When I rotate the camera to the other side, I see the rectangle cut out but when I try to select the rectangle with the Push/Pull tool I select the entire wall. I have tried using CTRL while using the Push/Pull tool but that extends a rectangular box past the wall.

I still don't understand how you create the single un-bolded lines? Are those created automatically with the line tool (keyboard shortcut 'L'), or is there some sort of special setting?

The Push/Pull tool can only select one face. It can't select more than one. As cotty alluded to you're missing at least one line segment to divide the walls from the floor.

Attach the SKP file and we can show you.

With your style, you are able to see some bold profile lines for your face, the contour is broken here...

How do you have broken contour lines, and how would I fix it other then re-drawing everything?

    • Push/Pull Tool Selecting Too Many Faces

When I am using the push/pull tool, it selects adjoining faces and I am unsure why. I have checked that all the edges are connected so my face is enclosed. When I go and try to push just that face, it selects almost the rest of the adjoining faces.

In this example, the top image where I trying to use the push/pull tool on the right side of the dining room is behaving correctly. The bottom image where I have selected the left side of the dining room is selecting all the adjoining rooms even though all the edges are connected. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?
