I use a Mac (macOS Sierra 10.12.3, SU 2017 Pro M2, Xcode 8.2.1) and I can't reproduce this issue. That doesn't mean it wasn't triggered by the update, but it depends on something specific to your system. I have no clue what, though.

A material has to have been used in the model, simply making it current is not enough. Perhaps this is the Color_000 issue ? http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=180%26amp;t=33847 As has been spelled out several times, adding small painted faces within some part of the DC is the sure way of having these available to use in the DC, however there is this potential difference between the material .name and its .display_name The enclosing [...] etc show this. Try using those for the material name, rather than the display name. The code snippet I gave allows you to get any material's dual names. I understand that the [...] indicate the material was at some time loaded into a model and not created from scratch. It has been like that since v6.0 http://ruby.sketchup.com/Sketchup/Material.html#display_name-instance_method Since you are shipping the materials you can choose the re-name them using the >=v8.0 method: material.name="some_name" A quick way to do this could be this snippet... Sketchup.active_model.materials.each{|mat| p n=mat.name; p d=mat.display_name; mat.name=d; p mat.name } This processes all of the materials currently used in the model and sets the mat's name to the display_name - thereby sidestepping any difference between the two... It prints each material's name, display_name and final name - this safety-net is in case the new name is already taken by another material, in which case it'll get a numerical suffix added... This has been cover ages ago by thomthom, here... some of his points have already been added to the API notes... http://www.thomthom.net/thoughts/2012/03/the-secrets-of-sketchups-materials/

@alexschreyer said: I still think that the DXF ... export should be baked into SketchUp Make... neverever, with the the key difference (= DXF/DWG data exchange) between Make and Pro removed and already lots of users using Make commercially this would probably have a big impact on Pro sales... au contraire, strip down or better discontinue the Make version.

If your terrain is clean and connected, and softened-smoothed to one surface, With hidden geometry showing project image onto one face (or set the current face material to projected). Sample that face. Then with hidden geometry off, paint the whole surface. Or did you try this?

This sort of behavior is typically related to the graphics card and its drivers and isn't a SketchUp bug. This is especially the case when the behavior changes after a period of use. SketchUp 2017 requires graphics cards that are up to handling OpenGL and handling it well. There's no offloading the graphics card's work to the CPU as in older versions. With Windows, the user can try to update the graphics drivers from the card's maker. With Mac it's not usually possible to do that. The graphics drivers are part of OS updates that Apple pushes with some frequency.

Thank you for your help, Pilou! Bob @pilou said: Just a precision about the Toposhaper method above! I erase all surfaces and keep only contours ! Will be more precise of course if you have some real level's curves! (iso contours)

It's fixed! I saved it as an STL file (with the STL extension) and it worked. I guess some file types simply aren't compatible.

@bep said: Yes it is a so-cold sloppy Cad drawing. Use the plugin "flatten to plane" to get all geometry flat on the working plane. Use "edge tools" plugin to find and repair as many as possible small errors. Use the "make faces" plugin to make faces. Use the plugin "Cleanup" to get rid of all useless geometry. I would add do some manual clean up either before or upon import of CAD, you don't need some edges (crossing over multiple surfaces, not ending on another edge etc. ) that do not really represent or delineate 3d shapes and appear to be remnants of 2d drawing. Do this before you try to make faces.

My attempts to install Animator was not successful. But Spin It script works and is good enough for my purpose.
