Seems it's writed this ! @unknownuser said: Usage Draw a curve or a sequence of connected edges/curves. Place and orient the target group on one of the edges of the curve. (Optional) Offset the axes of the target group to the desired center. Select (Menu) Extensions → Copy Along Curve. Select the target group. Select the edge of the curve to copy against it. Usually it is the edge closest to the target group. Adjust options or left-click to verify and proceed to copying. To adjust the spacing, input a desired numeric value into the measurements box. To control the number of copies and have the spacing be adjusted automatically, input a fixed value with a c in the end. Use the left and right arrow keys to enable/disable alignment.

Hi Dave Yea, I try to avoid exploding groups and components as much as possible, but I have a devil of a time keeping complex groups "solid" as I manipulate them. Irregular shapes and all that I use to cut one group against another. Been burning my brain lately... Thanks. Maybe you can help out with my next post! @dave r said: That is a weird thing about layers when you explode groups or component. It can be leveraged when you're using nested components/groups but with raw geometry it's a bugger. TIG's plugin can help but one thing I've found useful is after exploding a bottom level group, all of its geometry will be highlighted. Immediately correct the layer association in Entity Info and you won't have a problem. To be honest, I rarely if ever have a need to explode a component after I've created it so this is rarely an issue for me, anyway.

SketchUp will remake those folders if they turn up missing. That's another reason why you have to make your own with different names.

I'm sure that the culprit wasn't ALL of the plugins/extensions you had installed. Put some of them back and see what happens. Keep putting them back until you get to where it happens again. That should give you an idea of which one is at fault.

@pbacot said: All the water marks can be on a layer that you turn on or off. You could even date the layers for progress watermarks. (ok...who could be bothered?) The use of components seems a good choice since you are not altering the model geometry in any way. Easy to tag objects in one click. I woke up with that thought. Thanks for confirming!

Really useful piece of software! Images are very good and the instant building volumes are really helpful. However, the feature I like the most is the sync between your model and google street view, that the plugin is able to pull off. It allows you to create a photomatch of your model using what you see in Streetview as a background with a single click and redo it for a new position of the model with a second click. Amazing "little" feature that can quickly help you turn a simple building block into a very detailed model, useful on a lot of scenarios. Congratulations Whaat!

Regarding Dave's comment. I wonder if using selection tools will identify identical groups and allow you to make them into instances of the same component.

I fail to understand why. If you can name something and but it in a catalog, e.g. a window or a car or door handle, then it is a component. If something only makes sense in a certain context, e.g. the slab of a specific floor in a specific building, then it's a group. I think it would only be confusing to blur the line even further.
