Yes, I second the suggestion to drop in the proxy component when vray is not loaded. I've also run into crashes with vray when trying to bring in an already created proxy. The plugin is thomthom's "vray tools" - it keeps vray disabled until you need it.

Have you tried to reduce the noise threshold? You find it under DMC sampler. I use 0.002.

I get all the time too. I reported it to Trimble as a bug and it was being "worked on".

a simple PC restart seems to fix the problem. Strange the map still doesn't load in the progress window but its working now.

Simply creating an emitting material could do the trick. Replace glass of the lights with this material. Maybe that helps? Regards,

Version of SU? Version of V-Ray? Sounds like an old bug from the 1.7 beta.

You must have 2 different versions of VRay though because SU8 is 32 bit and 2015 is 64, right? I wouldnt mix versions like this. Stick with one or you are asking for trouble in my opinion.

Yeah, hard to give you a good answer... I have tried many sketchup renders : kerkythea, podium, maxwell, twilight, lumion, v-ray... They are all fine, but i prefer v-ray. I have the feeling that i can more control my architectural renders. But parameters are complex. Podium and Kerkythea are easier to handle. Besides, Kerkythea is free.

A way to quickly cheat if the terrain clipper tool doesn't work, is to lift one surface off of the other by a half inch or so. At that distance and scale you shouldn't be able to see the edge either.
