For some reason VR is scaling up each exported component of eash window pane. Is there an easy batch fix for this? If I explode the group of window components it seems to render okay. but I would rather not have to do this each time/variation. As I'm also worried about the file becoming unnecessarily large. V-Ray for SketchUp installer is about 100mb. Anything more is not V-Ray.

The only way to use GPU to render with VRay is RT and from my experience, RT is still pretty buggy in 2.0 I would invest in a better processor with more threads. i7 at a minimum.

no, you need server CPU (Xeon) for dual cpu motherboard.

Backside faces are not currently supported by GPU rendering in Sketchup, That may be the reason you were having some errors.

Open your Light Cache drop-down in your V-Ray Options Editor and check the box to turn on "Raytrace threshold". That should solve your issue. [image: CNhW_Capture.JPG]

Vray is more effective when rendering if the base model with its textures and settings are on the SSD.

you can avoid this yellow light by going in Indirect illumination, and put Saturation to 0

Hi Robeana In the beginning don't try and fiddle with the settings , just too complicated to start off with Go on to sketchuptexture.com and download their presettings ie visopt. Import this into your settings and start from there. If the above is still confusing let me know and we take it a bit slower. I know how you feel , I am very much a beginner as well but after 6 months worth of frustration I might help you to avoid my mistakes. Let me know

Ted, that was nice! I opened your animation visop and clicked render. I tried to understand how to save all the rendered images as film but couldn´t figure it out. When I choose "save image" it does just that - saving the last image that is. Is there a way to export these rendered images as a video?

You can only use V-Ray in one version of Sketchup at a time. So if you have it installed for SU2013 you'll have to un-install it get the V-Ray installer for SU2015 and re-install it for 2015.
