Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

You open up a CA file and under IMPORT you find IMPORT 3D SYMBOL and you can see SKP is one of the file formats you can open up directly as a symbol. There are some minor things you can do to the symbol, but it remains just a symbol that cannot be broken apart. [image: aKQ0_SKPimportintoCA.png]

That's not a bad idea, actually. I can place a guide point at my component's X,Y,Z intersection before exploding it. Smustard's Midpoint extension does the trick. Thank you Dave R. (See? Sometimes it pays to drill down.)

What Microsoft browser are you using? What version is it? Since this appears to be coming from Archelios, it would be a good idea to check with them and see what browser version they support. BTW, your profile indicates you are using 2020 Free/Make but there is no such version. Please update your profile.

@l i am said: Hi, when doing landscape design it is best to use this workflow, as shown. Simply draw the whole plan on the image. Then push pull to achive the relitive levels. Then you should not have those issues. @dave r said: There isn't an aanimation export option in SketchUp Shop. At least not currently. Did you see something somewhere that indicates there is animation export? By the way, your profile indicates you are using SketchUp 2015 Make. Could you please update that information? Darn! That explains why I couldn't find it. Btw, there is no option for Sketchup Shop in the License field in the profile dialog box, only Make and Pro. I changed mine to read pro although it's not true.

Box is on it but... What version of SketchUp are you using? Your profile indicates 2014. Is that correct? I don't believe the inscribed/circumscribed option had been introduced yet.

Thanks, Box. That's a good way to do it for my purposes. I'm trying to decide on finishes for the range wall in my kitchen (or to let my wife help!). It is helpful to have reasonably realistic representations of the items on the wall to get a better feel for how things hang together. But super-detailed geometry for a close-up is not needed. OTOH, I was very glad to learn the other ways to model this as well, to improve my general knowledge!

@galiaf, youve dredged up an ancient thread. Curiously no one has addressed Gaeius's question. If right click is used for Orbit, how does one acess the Context menu?

@hornoxx said: ... a probably more stupid question: if you turn on "hidden geometry" and all layers visible, then copy-paste in place the desired model content into a new empty SkUp-template, does the same happen then? Hang on...The problem apparentlydisappeared since I did just THAT! And not just the model in the new template worked like a charm but also the original. Even more punishing old models (which were a total mess last time) displayed flawlessly with Hardware Acceleration on. Wtf? But sadly the artifacts came back after a while, as I was expecting (even if I was about to post a celebratory reply). And if all this wasn´t confusing enough, a bit later the line/band-shaped artifacts changed to some kind of shader thing on the non-textured model surfaces, apparently. [image: ISO11.jpg] And then it got back to the original artifacts. At this point, I am about to give up and look for a cheap graphics card which just does the job, or else I´ll get mad about it. Something along the lines of GeForce GT 1030 at 70 euros would be a hugeupgrade from this pretty weak old Quadro (which already did the job ok for some modeling in this secondary computer in the other hand, so I could go even cheaper). I should try updating to 64 bits also, but I am not sure if I will manage with this processor. So I guess I am moving on, but still curious...Thanks for the replies anyway!

Thank you again. As per your suggestion (as my Downloads Folder is empty), I downloaded the SU2019 Installer (to my Desktop), ran the Repair function as Administrator, then rebooted, arranged Tool Bars, inserted a simple model. I then saved as a template and opened another instance of SU. This did not remedy the problem. Shall I try uninstalling, then reinstalling SU as Administrator?

@freebs said: Do I have the video for you. This guy - "Winning with Sketchup" - is by far the best sketchup-in-the-real-world teacher I've found on the net to date. He's clear, succint and shows you which plugins he uses. Most are those we already have, but used well as part of an excellent workflow. He's a pro that actually uses Sketchup. This helped me do almost exactly what you're trying for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bA4tGgOFQJQ&t=602s Also see these ones (2-part series): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWjVrL0oetQ&t=330s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6T6xe3z0SEo Cheers, Brett. Thanks for the links! That's exactly SSB video I was thinking of!

With the method of the Extrude Tools By Tig Bezier Splines Trick is drawing curves on a rectangular surface (here the image) or a simple rectangle then erase the unwanted...or like follow a Copy / Move! you can use only 3 curves (so make 2 clicks on the second curve - here it's 4 curves) Extrude Tools [image: VCf2_extruc.jpg] https://youtu.be/0lmLHyhTIBM
