Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Someone had this same question recently. They were exploding the image after importing it, too. If you don't explode it, the image will show when the component is open for editing. I showed this as an example. [image: khLX_Screenshot-12_30_20207_28_27PM.png] It's puzzling to me that users feel the need to explode images after importing them. If it's not going to be used as a texture there's no need to explode it. If it is going to be used as a texture, it makes more sense to import it as a texture in the first place.

Well, I'm getting those Load Error messages again, not a big deal, doesn't affect SUp at all.

Yeah I'm sure gtx 1050Ti does the job. I looked more into it and it seems you're correct. My Cpu's 3rd thread hangs around %80 and goes to %100 sometimes so that's probably the issue here. Anyways thank you

There are simple steps outlined above to print to scale directly from SketchUp but why the heck would you do that if you have SketchUp 2021? It's a whole lot easier to do this with LayOut. In SketchUp, set the camera to Parallel Projection, select the appropriate standard view, zoom extents, and create a scene. Save the file. Open LayOut. Select the desired paper size. Insert the SketchUp model. Set the scale as desired. Drag the edges of the viewport if needed to show the entire model. Print or export to PDF. If you want better quality linework in your output, select either Vector or Hybrid render for the viewport before you export.

Sometimes I do preserve the origin if it seems to help bring the raw DWG file into the SU workspace. It really just depends on the file I am sent-- sometimes they are way out in outer space, sometimes not. I did find a workaround in the survey software I am using though.. If I import the DWG file, I can just create a point on the geometry of a known point that I know should line up with one of the imported points from the CSV file.. Once both sets of data are imported and misaligned, I can use an option to reposition one the imported points to the newly created one, thus aligning both of the data sets (point cloud and DWG geometry). Thanks for you help. It does give me a clearer understanding of the origin point that I did not have before today. Ive been using this for surveying for quite some time, but this was the first time I was using actual GPS collected State Plane Coordinates in lieu of just creating all of them locally in SU. Ive been using a traditional Total station and or robot, but the introduction of new GNSS system threw me for a loop and forced me to explore areas of the software Ive never had to. Made my brain stretch.. Thanks again.

Fredo6's - Fredo Scale plugin should do this using the Radial bending tool. You will find it in the Plugin Store along with plenty of guidance on using it. I would suggest making a copy of the roof element as a spare before starting. Good luck!

Thanks juju, Wanted to see if you had a good experience with them. I also remember Chipp also saying that he liked their products and had used them on his 'Alamo' project. I downloaded the trials for both Sketch FX and AO yesterday and played with them a bit. I'm planning to pick up FX for sure, but I'm finding using AO in combination with FX taxes my poor old 2014 13" MacBook. The output looks fantastic though. @juju said: I'd hardly say I was active there, probably a handful of posts, if that many. 'Active' is relative of course — in a forum that doesn't have much activity! (You had posted enough times to indicate that you were a user of their plugins.)

Thanks. Installed that (which I've used on 2017) before finding the old ruby. "Erase Stray Edges" works the same way. So far installing plugins in SU 2021 has been relative a piece of cake. Including the payware without even having to re-register any licenses. @dave r said: You might want to have a look at Thom Thom's CleanUp3. It can clean up more than just unneeded edges.

There's nothing wrong with 6000 pixel-wide image exports. That's often what I do. As for setting the text correctly, you'll need to experiment a little to get the size you want in the image export. I don't know what size you should set because I don't know how big you want the text to appear. There is no way to set lineweight in SketchUp. There never has been. You can do that in LayOut, though and you can use Hybrid rendering so the lines in LayOut are vector lines and will generally be crisper in the exports. (Keep in mind that edges and text will become rasterized in image exports. If you export a PDF from LayOut that won't happen.) And if you use LayOut's Text, Label, and Dimension tools, you can set font size, lineweight for leaders and dimension lines and other properties to get what you want. You'll also be looking at paper space in LayOut so you can easily compare the size of the text with the overall dimensions of the exported image.

Dave Thanks. Well, I found the problem. The screen was not maximized to the fullest. It looked like it filled the total screen area, but When I made the screen smaller, it still behaved the same way. I went to ver 2020, made the screen smaller and it incorrectly behaved like version 2021. Then I made the screen full screen in 2020, and it behaved correctly. Went to 2021. Made the screen smaller than full scale. And now it works. Again, thanks for the help.

@dave r said: It's not uncommon for third party extension and application makers to update their products for a new version of software. It's different when all of that stuff comes from in house because it is typically all updated before the release. For future updates you might consider waiting a couple of weeks to allow those third parties to test and issue their updates. FWIW, if you haven't already done so, you should install the SCF Extension (go to Resources at the top of the forum page and click on Plugin Store Download, download the extension and install it via Install Extension in the Extension Manager.) Then use it to install extensions that you get from Sketchucation. It will help you ensure you have the most recent versions of your extensions installed and it'll keep a list (bundle) of those extensions so you can install them automatically if you move to a new computer or when you update to the next version of SketchUp. thanks for the quick reply. that's what i love about SU, so many little nice surprises and plugins that help alot.
