I could see an advantage to this for typical details, or details that can be modified for the current projects. Engineers that I work with seem to have a numbering system, almost every detail in the drawing has a number below the title. I think it would be useful if the number included the year it was created or modified, or an abbreviation for the job it was used in, for custom designs. I don't consider it useful in my work, the way that details and drawings are usually one-off. I can find work by saving in the computer under the project name.

SU MAKE - 17.2 - The newer versions of Sketchup are a little pricey for us non-professionals who don't make a living from it. On the other hand, I have to pay for Photoshop and Illustrator as I do use those to earn.

PS The centerLine part is not usually needed, once you erase the internal lines And the face is in a V shape, you can usually just move that up/down to make your rectangle.

'1001 bits Pro' has some extrusion tools to test.

Repairing the installation as I described won't affect extensions or toolbars. Unless you go into the wrong areas and make changes in the Registry Editor, you won't have any effect on them either.

I got the same problem and just solved. Seems have to turn the color mode in Sketchup to align with the graphic card of the device. Solution: Go to System Preferences > Open GL> Capabilities Then change (try) the color mode. After changing to the correct one, the viewing color on sketchup screen will align with the color of the device system and hence the exported image. UN

... as asked above, could you please save down your SKP-file? This also enables users of older versions (like me) to help because not everyone has the current version. Sreenshots you can post as jpg directly visible here instead of making pdf files which have to be downloaded first which makes looking so cumbersome. And if you take a new screenshot, it doesn't hurt to highlight the places that bother you (the example-jpg below is screenshoted with the free Greenshot tool). I still don't see where the problem is. The pure presence of hidden geometry in itself is nothing unusual but normal. I can't be more specific without having a skp. When you look in either source for plugins you can search plugins by your favorite authors and probably recognize the ones you had.

Perhaps vertex tools or something with "align" in name. I don't remember exactly how this one works. A lot depends on what you really need and what direction you want to head. Various plugins like Curviloft from Fredo6, Extrusion tools by Tig, Soapskin and bubble will all do what you need, but you may need to fiddle them a bit to get the results you want. My personal go to for something like that would be SUbD, but it is not free and has a bit of a steep learning curve. However once you understand it it can be indispensable, depending on your work of course. In this example you can see how just changing the edges in the corners changes the finished shape significantly. [image: NVCatR6.gif]
