@Rich-O-Brien Thanks Rich. Now I know that I can share the link with Fredo6 on the Animator thread so he can download the file and look at it (to hopefully identify the problem I have been having trying to generate a video). You might also try generating an Animator video and see what results you get.

Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

Other modelling packages often let you edit the geometry by editing the vertices. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=18021&p=227736#p227736 With this Vertex Editing plugin I'm making, you will be able to use soft selections - so that when you do changes, like move a set of vertices, the ones at the edge of the selection is affected less. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=26387&p=227665#p227822

For some reason, it took me a couple of tries to load your model - it locked up SU one time and crashed it without warning the other. I did get it loaded on the third attempt and my first action was to use Thomthom's Cleanup script on it. The script found and erased 63 lonely edges - I have no idea if this was a cause of my problems or yours but as far as I can tell, Outliner is working fine on the cleaned-up model.

I don't think that the kind of tablet is a problem. I use an old 12"x12" kurta, that can respond to a multi button mouse. My cad menu consist of a small drawing area, standard CAD functions, and a area for custom commands. My pointing device is a multi button pen. The system can be configured to replace a mouse with the pen for other programs, but I do not use it that way as the pen is harder to pick up then reaching for a mouse when switching from the keyboard.

@jean lemire said: To copy objects, why not use "Copy" (CTRL-C) on the objects in one file and then "Paste" (CTRL-V) in the other. On the PC you can open more than one instances of SU at the same time. Bonjour Jean, This technique works great. I never thought about it even though I use the copy/paste all the time with other programs. Merci and have a terrific day! _KN

From my experience, printing a 300 dpi A0 format takes ages. I would suggest to start with a 150 dpi A0 to reduce sizes and problems.

I know this is a very old thread by now, but I have found a way getting round these limits and exporting at any size you want. It is here in the Tutorial forum: "Exporting 2D graphics with NO size limit" http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=26527 I have also posted a second tutorial on exporting Alpha masks for your 2D exports. "Creating an Alpha mask of your model for 2D graphic export" http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=26530#p228664 Bon appetit! David Mac

http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=23725&hilit=+Whaat read this post for better uv mapping in SU. This is as good as it gets I'm afraid. But others use Blender to achieve desired results as it's uv mapping is highly recommended. I've no experience with Blender yet but intend to check it out soon. I feel your pain though

Not really, its a good idea to keep all entities of your model grouped in case you need to edit them later. For example, you may decide to change that simple profile for a different one down the road - if its grouped just delete the group and draw the new one, if its not grouped, you have to delete every line of the old profile before drawing the new one. Grouping also will make it easier to texture and organize your model, especially important as your models get more complex...

Any idea how I would use component spray in that way? Let's say I have cylinder that I want to scatter some components inside of. I can select the cylinder and do a spray by selection, but that won't distribute the components inside the cylinder will it?

I guess that was clipping. Also, I have added you to the French UG so you can now see and post in the French Forum (you can sign up for any usergroups in your User Control Panel somewhere at the top left).

Sure, turn the window into a component. Now begin to move it (along the green or red axis). Then hold the shift button down. Now it will force inference to that axis so you can moveover to the other side of the house and align to the far window. Its that easy. Chris
