    • RE: Want to be able to see face shape when editing texture

      Hi Shawb,

OK, got it. The 'Unique Texture' option doesn't appear if you have the 'Face Style' view set to anything other than 'Shaded with Textures'. I had mine set to monochrome.
      Makes sense now.

Apologies. I can now play around with this πŸ˜„

      Cheers,

      Hi,

I've taken a look at my model and I'm only selecting one face but the option is missing. I have included a screenshot here.

      Thanks.

      Hi Shawb,

Sorry to be dumb, there doesn't appear to be any 'make unique texture' options when right-clicking any of the faces on my model.

      Cheers,

    • Want to be able to see face shape when editing texture

      Hi,

Is there anyway to to see the shape of a face when amending its texture? Maybe I've missed something, but when editing a texture in Photoshop you only see the original square texture. I have a wing that I want to amend the texture of and it would be really useful to see the actual wing shape as I do this.

      Hope this makes sense.

      Regards,

      Chris.

    • Plugins nightmare

      Hi,

Thought I'd try some animation in SketchUp so I downloaded some animation plugin from someone called Fredo. Thing is, I haven't a clue about using plugins as there doesn't seem to be any straightforward instructions on how to install them into SketchUp (I tried and I think I've installed it but I can find the menu for it in SketchUp)

Can anyone give me a few pointers here?

      Cheers.

    • Edited texture isn't applied after editing in Photoshop

      Hi,

Sorry, been away from Sketchup for a few years and have forgotten how to resolve the problem outlined below.

After I have made a 'unique texture', opened it in Photoshop and saved the texture, the edited texture isn't then applied to my model in Sketchup. Could this be something to do with where I save the texture to after editing it in Photoshop?

      Thanks for listening.

      Chredge.

    • RE: Sketchup crashing after creating material

      Hi Alan,

Thanks for your >ahem.< 'reply' πŸ˜„ (isn't it impossible to have anything against scousers?)

Anyway, nah, not got the Build-Edge plugin. However, Sketchup is loading with two renderers, could this have something to do with it? How do I stop the renderers from loading with Sketchup?

      Regards,

    • Sketchup crashing after creating material

      Hi,

      Hope you can help.

I have been using Sketchup for a few months and everything has been running fine. I have built and textured a model without any problems and I am now dabbling in rendering and lighting.
The problem is, just lately, whenever I create a new material within my scene Sketchup crashes. If I start Sketchup without loading my scene and create a new material everything is fine.
Could it be that something within my scene is stopping me from creating a new material? is there a limit on materials? Could having too many unique textures be a problem?

      Cheers,

    • RE: Make unique texture has gone!

      Hi,

      Thanks for your replies.

      I've tried hidden and un-hidden.
The model is within a component but I double-click this in order to edit it (is this right?).
There is a mixture of curved and flat faces, I'm attempting to edit a flat face.

I'll attach my model in my next post if you are still stuck for answers.

      Cheers,

      Ginger_Overlord.
