@Rich-O-Brien Thanks Rich. Now I know that I can share the link with Fredo6 on the Animator thread so he can download the file and look at it (to hopefully identify the problem I have been having trying to generate a video). You might also try generating an Animator video and see what results you get.

Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

Sounds like a permissions issue to me ? The folder containing these assorted files... does it have FULL read/write permissions set up for all users etc in the Properties > Security > Edit dialog ? And of course, also check the equivalent permissions for all of these files too - they should inherit those from the folder's settings, but might not have ?

This sounds like an issue with your mouse, its drivers/settings, or your mouse technique, not with SketchUp per-se. That is, for some reason SketchUp is receiving multiple mouse input events when you press the button. Check what the system settings for the mouse are, they may be interfering with SketchUp. Can you borrow another mouse to see whether the problem is with the hardware? I don't know why you see this with newer versions but not with SketchUp 8 - perhaps they tuned up something in the GUI that used to drop almost-simultaneous mouse inputs...

you'd need to model the terrain (ie. the positions of corners as per surveying maps for your site location) correctly, set the solarnorth correctly w.r.t. the terrain then position your axis (x=0, y=0, z=0) is at can be used as reference for the actual geo-location that's how I would do it, very few project require this level of precision though, mostly just locate the model to a known location and set the solarnorth

This sounds like the component has the glue-to behavior set. Open the Components window, click the little house icon to see "In Model", select the component and then select edit in the component window. If you see Glue To set to anything except "None", you need to change this to eliminate the glueing behavior. Note: if you originally draw the component up against another face, this behavior is set automatically unless you unselect it in the create component dialog.

Peter, Somehow, I missed your reply. Thanks for the explanation. I have some pretty minimal settings that I use for generic tune-up purposes. For me, it has served as an enhanced find and fix errors utility that has saved more than one of my models. But your points are well made and well taken. Thanks again. Phillip

@pilou said: From the site last update seems for SU 2013 ! So try if that yet work with newer SU versions Free version allows you to make 10 seconds animation! Of course sufficient for test functions but not if you want more directly! (you can also make some past of different animations if you are tricky! Prices was 50 to 200 € following versions All docs Having problems with installation. I have sent them a note. Will see if I get any reply. Might be a problem because I am running SU 2015 on Win10. I have printed off and read some of the documentation. I agree that it looks like it could be kind of complicated but powerful if I can get it going. The 10 second limit for the trial version might make it difficult to properly evaluate. @bob james said: I would recommend you take a look at SimLab Soft http://www.simlab-soft.com/index.aspx I will give it a look............

You are correct, terrible job on my part trying to explain; For 32 float, you have 1 sign bit, 8 mantissa bits and 23 significant bits but because way the sign used significant bits is 24. The decimal equivalent digits for 24 bits is 7.2+ digits. Thus you see the basis of the display I was discussing earlier. Using an online converter 0.35 converts to .3499999994039..... and 0.4 to .40000000596046.... and rounding is done for those to read .35...... and .40......... and has nothing to change the precision use internal to the machine. Why the OP machine changes .35 to .40 I can only guess, but if a generic SU issue that would have many more folks flagging the problem so => probably issue with his machine or its operating system. There is zero info provided for it so no further action can be done except by the op.

Vanilla "Solid Inspector" [NOT 2] indicates the issues. "Solid Inspector 2" will fix many issues, but you will need to fix some yourself manually. At the expense of "boiling these cabbages more than once" [Irish saying]... I'll reiterate what a 'Solid' is... A Manifold Solid [at least as far as SketchUp is concerned] has the following properties:- It is a "Container" [i.e. a Group or Component-instance]. If you Select it and the 'Entity Info' top-bar says 'Solid' then it is a 'Solid' [BUT subject to the provisos at the end...] It must contain only Geometry. Geometry is defined as Edges and Faces [Curves/Arcs/Circles are made from Edges, Surfaces are made from Faces]. Although the non-interacting Guide-lines and Guide-points are also "allowed" [and probably would not affect an export to STL or similar], I'd still recommend you avoid including them. So the 'exclusion' list includes nested Groups or Component-instances, Text, Dims etc... [You example does contain some nested parts in the microphone] There are further limitations on its 'Geometry'. Every Edge must support two Faces - no fewer and no more. This means that an Edge CANNOT: be 'faceless' have only one face - e.g. forming a ledge, shelf, hole-perimeter etc be shared by more that two faces - e.g. supporting an internal partition face where it has three or more faces, or a shared edge between to volumes which would otherwise be considered a solid but they'd have four faces There are 'CleanUp' plugins to remove coplanar or stray-edges etc. You can use Xray mode and temporary Section-cuts to access the inside of these forms to tidy them up by Deleting unwanted edges/faces. There are some other issues which might affect 'Solidity'... The Faces of a Solid should be consistently oriented. Use Monochrome mode... Front-faces [Style-dependent, but usually off-white] to the outside, and back-faces [Style-dependent, but usually blue-gray] to the inside. Once you have a Solid, then the Context-menu > Orient will fix this. You can still have a SketchUp 'Solid' Container reported, which is not 3d-printable ! If its Geometry defines a 3d object that cannot exist in the real world it'll fail ! An form like this 'intersects' itself - like a magician who reaches through a solid wall to touch something on the other side. To treble-check for this, you can take a Container and edit it, Select All and Context-menu > Intersect with Context. If you exit the Edit and it's still a Solid in Entity Info all is OK. If it is not then something was wrongs and you need to fix it, as outlined earlier...
