Error saving filepath.layout

I have both LO and skp files in the same folder. When I go to save the LO file I get
'Make sure that the path and file name are correct'When I try save as - i get the same thing.
Nothing has changed on system, filepaths the same so what gives? Anyone else had this?

Sounds like a permissions issue to me ?
The folder containing these assorted files... does it have FULL read/write permissions set up for all users etc in the Properties > Security > Edit dialog ?
And of course, also check the equivalent permissions for all of these files too - they should inherit those from the folder's settings, but might not have ?
