    Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

    Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

    Seems to be a known problem when applying custom mapping / using SketchUV. Dale (Whaat) even posted a workflow for it but I can't seem to get it to work: http://artisan4sketchup.com/manual/sketchuv/lessons/Auxillary_Tools_-_Path_Select_and_Triangulate.html create object apply material with texture export UV's (obj) using SketchUV to third party program (Blender for instance) apply UV's in third party program, export as obj import UV's using SketchUV apply 'triangulate' in SketchUV export as fbx this workflow still generates multiple materials and textures. I must be missing something. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    @fordwaters said: ...changed some settings for read & write capabilities under the Sketchup application folder. I doubt that will help at all... SU doesn't write AutoSave's into the .app folder, by default unsaved models go into the 'AutoSave' folder... Sketchup.find_support_files("","AutoSave") which for me returns ["/Users/johns_iMac/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2015/SketchUp/AutoSave/.DS_Store"] as mine is empty [by choice]... Once you 'Save' or 'Save As' a file, it's new 'AutoSave' saves to the same folder as the new skp. the one for 'Untitled' stays in the folder, but it is then a dead link, that won't open... To clarify your issue... 1: You are 'AutoSaving' an 'Untitled' drawing 2: you then name by using 'Save' or 'Save As'? 3: after this manual save, you get the 'Failed to save file' error, at the pre-set time limit... I can replicate this only if I Lock the folder after I first save it, or manually move it from my user folder... but then I am unable to 'Save' without the same warning... Are you running as 'root/admin'? as that's the only way I can see how you can get this issue... as 'root' you can save to anywhere you like without 'error' messages, but SU can't write to the same scope as 'root' so 'AutoSave' would fail... john

    Awesome. I found this thread looking for an answer to the same problem <Couldn't save styles out for re-use> List view was the problem, Icon view "fixed" it. I haven't experimented with saving and re-opening. Mac OS Mavericks. Sketchup 2015 pro

    @sketch3d.de said: I've made a Windows executable for saving/restoring the SU prefs (no malware, no spyware, no adware, no installation). tested w/ XP, should work w/ Vista/7 too; even though, use at own risk. Norbert Script from sketch3d.de (Norbert) looked really promissing and easy to use . Thank you. Unfortunately, no go on Windows 8.1 with Sketchup 2015 (x64) as the script opens and seem to work normally, but nothing is saved. Tried to save in 'Documents folder" to start with, then created a folder on the desktop, still no go. So unfortunately not working for me... Thank you anyway

    @mzarja said: Hello! I need an advice. I'm creating a house visualisation in SketchUp Pro. I have various components (furniture) and I need to set one colour to all of them. Is there any way of doing that without changing colour to each and every component manually, like not colouring all component faces separately? Thanks in advance! This one-liner will color ALL component instances RED. Sketchup.active_model.definitions.each{|cd| next if (cd.group?||cd.image?);cd.instances.each{|e| e.material='red'}}

    The ratchet is the pump mechanism, you turn the handle and it winds the bar up to move the piston. Rack and pinion. Another version here. http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/20933/lot/92/
