If you make the components unique and use Eneroths Texture positioning extensions Depatternize you can, but then you would lose the components. So be sure you won't need to edit them later on.
Saving a copy before doing that would be a good idea.

Oh, so, should I not use GSU for "Google SketchUp"? Every industry and ever tool has it's own nomenclature
It hasn't been "Google" SketchUp for nearly 5 years.
As Dave said, you haven't given us much SketchUp-specific info to go on, which leaves open the possibility that SU is a victim of some other problem with your system. For example, some other process that is hogging memory, CPU, or disk. Or maybe issues with a network connection. Or maybe something has decreased the mouse "speed"...
Thank for both replies! The Helix Around a Curve greatly expedited my work, but it was the "do it much bigger and scale" suggestion that just made it work. 100s and 100s of clicks became about 5.
Thanks so much!

I usually do it like this.
In Max make sure the materials are scan line not vray.
Export as obj to the same folder that the textures are in.
I then use Simlab composer to convert the obj to skp.
I think you can export a few models with the demo version.
or direct export from max to skp via Simlab exporter for MAX . So far, that one worked seamlessly.

I didn't know sketchup could do something that complex!

Is SketchUp flagging a problem with your model and prompting to fix it when you save?
Judging the appearance in the images you got lots of reversed faces going on. I imagine there's probably lots of other errors too.

Gosh, access too! I can remember a banner message which states that from 1 Jan 2017 downloads for models prior to SU 2015 will no longer be available but nothing regards access to the site. I hope this is not the case as I am a newbie who has uploaded 1 model so far to the warehouse and would like to share more in future.
Oops, my bad. That sounds more correct... Sorry to cause you worries...
Quite fine! Well it's the 1st of a new month, sounds like maintenance then.
EDIT: And whoopey, site is back up again!!!
From your video it appears you've disabled the style change warning. Since axis and guide visibility are style settings and you aren't updating or creating a new style when updating the scene, it's no surprise that the axes and guides are still showing in that scene. When you click on that scene tab, you are not only returning to the camera position but also the style associated with the scene.
When you click to update the scene after making a style change, you should see a warning box like this.
To re-enable it go to Preferences>General and turn that warning on again. Then make the appropriate selection from the first two choices.

By the way, this warning is nothing new. This has been part of SketchUp forever. Or at least back to version 3.
To add to what Dave wrote, there are a lot of reasons to hang onto the previous version even after you have installed the new one and it is working. You never know what issues you might run into with the new version or how soon the authors will update your favorite extensions for compatibility. You might simply prefer the way something worked in the previous version!
A purchased single-user license never expires. I ditch the old versions only if disk space gets tight or they are hopelessly obsolete.

Thanks Dave
Got it
My other gripe is when searching in Extension warehouse it doesn't find the plugins you want.
I dont know whether its a case sensitive thing or you have to type exactly the name.
See the example section cut face and it doesn't find it and this seems to happen to a lot of plugins i search for.
Or maybe its because the signature has expired.
Please let me know your thoughts and thanks again for your time.

I'm curious as to what it is that gave you the idea that all extensions would be hosted there. Especially since I'm sure you've gotten extensions from Sketchucation.
You should install the Sketchucation Extension Store found under Resources at the top of this page. Then let it install extensions from here automatically.
It just seems to be sticking up (from looking at the picture). Use the move tool to move that vertex or vertices back down to be consistent with the rest or erase the edges and retrace that area.
