Many of your faces are incorrectly oriented which will create issues for most rendering applications. @tig said: It's probably foobar ! Did SketchUp make a .skb backup file in the same folder ? If so, try to rename with .skp on the end and try opening that. If it opens it'll be one save behind. Also look for an AutoSave_FileName.skp file and see if that works... been a while since i've had to resort to using the skb file. thanks for the suggestion and refreshing my memory!

@pixelmonkey380 said: i'm not sure if this exist yet, but here is another million dollar idea for someone. a digital camera with an adjustable field of view that can be set by degree from the camera. there are already lots of fov calculators out there.. for example: http://www.tawbaware.com/maxlyons/calc.htm (variety of different calculators) then this security company has a fov calculator for use with their equipment: http://www.pelco.com/sites/global/en/sales-and-support/downloads-and-tools/tools/lens-calc.page as far as having the calculator built in to the camera itself, i'm not entirely sure how useful it would be from a user point of view.. trying to set up a shot based on degrees isn't any more helpful or understandable than lens length (imo)

Nice model. Lots of detail, but looks very tight. For me, this would be a lot of work over a long time. Show us a smooth view. Are your curved elements sufficiently segmented to render well?

Other tools you could use: Lines to Tubes. Pipe on Path Tube on Path Fredo Scale step by step, ring by ring with orientation of scaling to orientation of rings. Curviloft, also, in a series of sections.

@bryan k said: Yeow and wow! How are you making the more complex curved surfaces? lots of trial and error! @chedda said: The bike looks great nice job. Axeonalias how do you suggest adding decals without creating geometry i had this problem a while back. Intersecting geometry leads to other problems notably smoothing etc. I was having the same problem which is why i created the decal separately. @pbacot said: great model ! Please show wireframe detail or explain the poly decals I've never been able to get an image map to stay in the correct location, or have the color correct. It's just been easier to create the decal and have the clean edge and colors. Most of the decals, excluding the radiator shrouds, were made flat and then turned or laid to the next flat surface after being broken apart. The decals on the Radiator shrouds were made with a duplicate of the shroud, sliced, then re-colored. From that point, the position was moved 1/32" from the surface of the shroud and adjusted as needed. feel free to look around the models i've posted on the warehouse. Over the last year or so, i've gotten a much better grasp of the application. pixelmonkey380 models on the warehouse chris<pixelmonkey>:D

PipeAlongPath with inner/outer radius== or TubeAlongPath will make a 'tube' along a set of connected edges BUT they can't branch - however, the 'ends' junctions are tidied up. You'd need to selected a number of connected edges/curves [end-to-end] and use the tool several times to make a partially tidied frame. Lines2Cyl etc will make all selected edges into separate cylinders... Some manual tidying up will be inevitable with branching forms...

I'm just starting to make money using sketchup. I help to plan events in and around Boston. Some of the things I've been paid to do were... Model traffic flow around street closures, show pedestrian flow, describe an area to be a beer garden for liquor license applications(licensed area, exits, security), tent layouts, table layouts, stages, calculate usable area to set guest capacity for fire permits, I can brand a booth with a potential client's logos for the sales team... the list goes on. I helped with Sail Boston, WFNX/Phoenix Best Music Poll, Harvard Football, Phantom Gourmet BBQ Beach Fest and many, many smaller functions. A few hotels have hired me to model their function rooms in different layouts to be included in the sales package. I have an unfinished web site if you want to check it out. Event3D.blogspot.com It's just thrown together to have something to link to for clients.

If you question was about how to round quickly the corners of 2d shapes then you can use the "2d fillet" plugin that you can find here http://www.ohyeahcad.com/download/. Select all the shapes you want than just input a fillet radius.
