Field of view camera

i'm not sure if this exist yet, but here is another million dollar idea for someone.
a digital camera with an adjustable field of view that can be set by degree from the camera.
would be handy for a surveillance company.
customer wants to have a CCTV or IP based security system installed in their home or business. A rep from the company visits their location and talks with the customer to get a better idea of their needs and price range. The rep narrows down to a few select cameras and positions for the cameras. Adjust the settings on the digital camera to the field of view to the same as camera option 1,2,3... and snaps a photo from the proposed physical camera mount location.this came to mind after doing a rough model of my home and adjusting the field of view at a few key spots. looked nice and helped narrow down which cameras would be best.

I've not tried it, but maybe the advanced camera tools (PRO) can do this?

there are already lots of fov calculators out there..
for example:
http://www.tawbaware.com/maxlyons/calc.htm
(variety of different calculators)then this security company has a fov calculator for use with their equipment:
http://www.pelco.com/sites/global/en/sales-and-support/downloads-and-tools/tools/lens-calc.pageas far as having the calculator built in to the camera itself, i'm not entirely sure how useful it would be from a user point of view.. trying to set up a shot based on degrees isn't any more helpful or understandable than lens length (imo)
