@Rich-O-Brien if I can find some good dimensioned drawings, maybe I will model the Wizard of Oz machine.
As to the AO, I didn't think of it.

A machinist's model of a twin cylinder steam engine designed by Joseph Bernays in the 1870's. The original was displayed in Paris at the Universal Exposition of 1878.
@alexpacio2013 I don't know why Curviloft is behaving differently with that but I wouldn't have thought to use Curviloft. The native Follow Me would handle that just fine.
@L-i-am what happens when you click on Explode or even Edit Group?
I can imagine with all that geometry SketchUp Free would be very sluggish. It's really not intended for models with the level of detail you've got there. It's not just overall file size but also entity counts that affect performance. Same as with the desktop version but the hobby version has more limitations.
@cbenham that's a normal behavior with Round Corner. Just select the face and delete it. Or use FredoCorner.
@errror404 You really ought to use the Extension Store tool to find and install extensions. It's easier than downloading the extensions and installing them with Extension Manager. It also means that when extensions get updated you can get an alert and update them quickly, and of course build your bundle to make migrating to a new version of to a new computer easier.
This is a known issue and the developers are aware of it and working on a solution. Hopefully they'll get it fixed in time for the first maintenance release.
@jo-ke what version of SketchUp?
Vray works well for me and it can be reasonably fast and simple depending on your needs.
@iandefazio it's a known issue. Hopefully fixed in the first maintenance release.
@Aartrace1 that seems normal if you are locking and unlocking viewports. Why are you locking the viewports and the layer they are on? No need to do both. I would only lock the layer(s). Then, when you update the SketchUp reference, the viewports will render automatically if Auto Render is enabled.
The joinery you show isn't terribly unusual. Sam Maloof would approve. I agree withRich that Artisan or SubD would be good options. I would be inclined to model just one third of it and without the joinery initially. I would make the third a solid object (group or component) and then model the leg joinery to use as a cutter for use with the Solid Tools or better, Bool Tools 2 to make the seat-side of the joint.
@Cabinet89 do you have any other pictures? What version of SketchUp are you using?
You still have to open the group for editing in order to get to the lines. It's a lot like working in SketchUP. When you exploded the viewport you wound up with a scaled drawing group. Also, depending on how the SU file is structured, there may be nested groups--groups inside of a parent group. Double click on the contours until you can select a single contour line.
I expect you aren't opening the groups for editing to get access to the contour lines.
As for the eaves, first, what version of SketchUp and LayOut are you using. With the current version you can assign a dashed line style to the tag you've given to the roof so they show as dashes.
@Rich-O-Brien thank you! By "spindle arm" are you referring to the lead screw that drives the moving anvil?
@ntxdave I don't have any thing to view it in 3D but here you poke around in the online SketchUp viewer.
@HornOxx thank you! Two ceparate lines-only exports from SketchUp combined with the render from Vray.
