Hi Jim! No problem and of course i thank you for all your work you put into rubies and helping out here in the forum. The Ivy Generator needs an object only as a dummy to run the ivy on sg so sometimes it's not a problem if some triangles are missing. I also use Archicad so i think i will try an dxf > obj workaround - although right now it looks that this .obj format is kinda fragile so i dont have high hopes. Anyways, thanks for the help everybody!

And if you ever need a script that would add spikes to everyone of those faces, you know where to find that in the future too . Chris

@dave r said: ...You can make some adjustments in the Entity Info box but if you want to assign other attributes such as cutting openings or Face Me, you'll need to explode the group and then Make it a component... Or in the component browser > Right click on a component "In model" > Go to Properties. This willopen the component dialog missing when turning a group into a component.

Interesting timing on your question! Just today I put up a tutorial here: http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=17301 Even though it is how to make a specific "thing", I think going through the motions will give anyone a pretty good idea of what DCs are capable of. Xrok is right, if you post your sketch we can guage how to help you. Note I suggest help, not do the work for you unpaid. If you are just starting to work for yourself as a designer, learning SU yourself is a smart move and we will help you.

Also, check the size of them. How many pixels in height and width. Even though your texture might be bigger, SU's internal max size is 1024x1024 so there's no point going over that unless you use rendering engines. When uploading to Google Earth you can do with at least half that size.

I use Jim's toolbar customizing plugin. I simply stripped off all the toolbars from the main SU window and made a single toolbar with some of the rarely used tool buttons (that I don't use hotkeys for) that I float beside the SU window and thus got rid of the dreaded toolbar screw-up forever. Now if there was a way to do this with all the plugins I have...

@kentucky said: Griffith, I am currently working on a water treatment plant project, everything in it, pumps chemical storage feeders, controls, etc. I spent several days searching for the fittings and valves. I ended up buying a cad library from cadtoolsonline. It was about $200, worth every cent. You will need to model the bolts. I just made several different rings of bolts for different size fittings. You can download the demo and try it out. Demo has up to about 6", full version up to 48". I checked to make sure that they just weren't scaled up from one size to another, doesn't appear to be the case. I'll try to post some screen shots of the fittings and valves soon. PM me if you have questions. My Hero ..this will save me a lot of time specially for the non scaled up pieces thanks for the link I will consult this with my wallet haha

I didn't know about that program, thank you for bringing it to our attention. It seems that a Paint.net user has developed a "watercolor" filter that shows some promise: http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2392
