i want to make some new tool bars and everywhere i look says to go to view-toolbars-customize to create or edit toolbars. however i do not have that option, i am using 7 Pro and just for kicks i went and looked on my copy of 6 i have and its the same way. i tried searching for this answer before posting with no luck so now im asking if i need to turn something on or do something different before the option will show up?

here is a pic of what my menu says. am i looking in the right place?

Im guessing you need a plugin to get that option, perhaps this: http://sketchuptips.blogspot.com/2008/06/custom-toolbars-release-08-06-01.html

Hmm, I'm not sure where it says that. Is it somewhere in the help center?

Its not possible to create your own customized toolbars using the SU interface. Though there is a plugin that mgiht be able to help you.

Try that. I think it only works with the standard toolbars and not the custom ruby plugin tools.

I wonder if you have been reading the documentation of the Mac version - I understand that toolbar customization is possible on the Mac.

Thats crazy cool. I might consider switching over to a Mac if they didn't crash all the time. Darn buggy beasts,

I use Jim's toolbar customizing plugin. I simply stripped off all the toolbars from the main SU window and made a single toolbar with some of the rarely used tool buttons (that I don't use hotkeys for) that I float beside the SU window and thus got rid of the dreaded toolbar screw-up forever.

Now if there was a way to do this with all the plugins I have... 😒
